False reporting. Very amusing

I've completely read the Summoner's Code. _NO PROFANITY! it says

Despite that rule, for the past three days, players have reported me for using offensive language. The most amusing part is that I have not typed out any profanity in any form. Nor have I misspelled it to avoid the filter. No cuss words have been typed in to the game for me.

I believe the most I have done is tell people that keep spamming the surrender option to "Finish the game, cowards." If any of those four words are now considered "profanity" in the 21st century, I'll be surprised.

So, players can go ahead and report me for foul language. If I am not mistaken, false reporting where Riot can find no evidence of any wrong doing, is punishable.

Go ahead and report me for foul language. Your threats of having me banned make me chuckle out loud. Feel free to look for my name in the game and add me to your block lists. I don't have a great deal to say to people anyway. I'm too busy practicing.__

I think Offensive Language is now the warning popup for both types of harassment (verbal and language). The 2 options were merged into one report option this last patch. All types of verbal abuse will come up as Offensive Language now. All my friends have gotten the same thing.

This. This does not surprise me at all when reporting...lol.. welcome to 2015! Where everyone is offended over everything.

Riot must not agree. I've yet to receive anything from the company that says they agree with any reports that have been turned in on me. Not even a "We see not justification for the report that has been submitted."

I assume the company will let me know if they find I am at fault. Until then, I've decided to automatically mute everyone at the start of the game. It allows me to focus and prevent issues.

Everyone see my name? Go ahead and block me. I really do not care.

Ah. Another report of "verbal abuse." Didn't say anything other than "Stop surrendering." It goes on and on.

Did you know that telling someone who is charging in and dieing that they are not worth healing is considered abusive?

Did you also know that refusing to vote yes or no on a surrender is considered abusive?

Did you also know that staying within range of your final two turrets and not leaving them while the enemy attacks your base is considered a bad thing by the other team and they report you for it?

At this rate, I'll have a permanent ban from the game in less than a month. And I've yet to break any of the Summoner's Code. But there appears to be TWO versions of the Code: the one Riot created and the one the players have created. In the player version of the Code, not taking your support character to the bottom lane is a reportable offense. Even if the ADC is just charging in and constantly dieing. Tell them to stop, you're reported. Defending that decision? Reported. According to the Player's Code, everything is reportable.

I wonder why I'm ranting about this. It must be because I am pointing out the absolute absurdity of people lately. I actually had someone in the last game tell me to go play ranked if I wanted better players. Neither of us were of high enough level to queue for ranked.

Absurd enough yet?

You can't get punished on false reports.

Clearly, I don't know how the ASCII code system works on this board.

Suffice it to say that trusting it will all be okay when a pop up screen says you've been reported is naïve and foolish.

--Wait what? Can you explain why you think this ? --

Honestly at level 17 complaining about false reports it makes me wonder a few thing...Honestly, I am concerned you may not really understand the rules and I'd hate to see you come on next about a punishment. Please friend, if you are getting a pop-up about reports maybe you could explain what they are for so we can help you .

Side Note : I'd really like to see a Red/ someone who can get the info explain why OP is getting so many reports and maybe save them and others before punishment. OP, I'm not saying you deserve anything, simply something seems off with this thread. GL though and please do take care about the false reports.

Reports will get your account scrutinized. Punishments only follow if the scrutiny reveals something worth punishing.

The notifications are there to give players a heads-up when they are getting reported. If you're truly not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about. If you are, then it's a warning that your behavior isn't going unnoticed. The feature is there to help mildly toxic players change their behavior and avoid punishments. If the reports are false, the warning can be safely ignored.

I guess I can just safely ignore them then.

I just played a game was reported for abusive language again. Despite the fact that I had muted all four teammates within four minutes of the game start and never used one filtered word in chat.

Riot checks logs, you won't be punished for anything if you haven't actually done anything wrong.

Samus7211/9/2015, 8:18:11 AM1 votes

Another game, another report for verbal abuse. Yup, muted them all and never said a word.

nerak2311/9/2015, 12:53:46 PM1 votes

All pop ups say "You've been reported recently for abusive language." Then they go on to explain that "we understand everyone has a bad day." This has happened so many times that I do not even talk in the game anymore. And still get reported for offensive language.

I wish I had something better to say then don't worry about it if they are false :( Again, not saying your doing anything wrong. Maybe a lot of people are mad about season ending punishments and just plain reporting more.

Honestly, I do wish someone could take a look at your account to let you know if the reports are false or if maybe something your not even aware of is triggering them...or Heck who knows Maybe there is a glitch in the system...Seriously, GL friend :)
