A general question about the Chat Restrictions

So, this is probably my first post on the forums as im not one to usually have any issues in game. I simply play to both enjoy the game and learn from it. though getting to the point, my concern is for those games when everything turns against you. i recently got chat restricted for the first time in my whole time on league, this being because i usually have music playing and have no issues drowning out the toxic players. though like many say there are just those odd games, one of which where a persons in the wrong mindset and simple responds to the toxic players...

well for me that time came and i belive it a little unfair that given i didnt use any swears or racial comments in my responses to this toxic player i belive me chat restriction a little unfair, considering i reported the very player who was being toxic and nothing came of it, despite him refusing to gank lanes, constantly belittling myself because i was losing lane rather badly due to being camped. All this came to cause my slightly "smart ass" comments to be given back to this person which got me a chat restriction?.

Over all im not really asking for my chat restriction removed because it probably wont anyways, im more so just hoping that when it comes to these kind of reports that the system consider both sides of the story. After all a person could of been rather toxic, tilting their team in chat till they respond then just reporting them and having them punished when initially they were the ones to cause the issue in the first place.

The chat system does not consider context. Very rarely will Riot consider context. It requires a manual review so a support ticket or Rioter seeing a boards post.

You will most likely not be notified if your reports were influential towards issuing a punishment.

The official Riot policy is "any negativity is punishable". Which is to say, swearing and hate speech are not the only things Riot punishes.

Both sides of the story don't matter, if you report the person who's being toxic they'll be dealt with accordingly, same as if you get reported for being toxic back. Yelling back and forth with someone who's toxic just makes a worse environment for the other people on your team, and possibly the people on the enemy team.

And how do you know he didn't get punished? The notice that someone's been dealt with is very inconsistent, you don't always get told if someone's been punished. It's possible he did get at least a chat restriction.

If you want to know what exactly got you, post your chat logs. We can't really help you figure out what flagged the system without them.
