Ranked w/ Leavers/AFK's

So, I'm a relatively new player that's finally been giving a shot at ranked, and after being immediately qualified for Silver V, that got quite the motivation for me to keep going to see where I can go. But over these past days I've been noticing something (something non-ranked games also suffer from, but au contraîre, in non-ranked you don't actually 'lose' something, so it never came as severe.) This issue nonetheless seems to be across many more leagues, from Bronze to early Silver in whole:

'People who leave the game prematurely, either through displeasure, unacceptance or disconnection.'

What has been bothering me is that behavior like this - albeit already disallowed by the rules - is actually having an additional effect; It drags the whole team under, letting them lose LP and their Ranked progression over reasons that were not in their - or their opponent's - control.

I'm going to propose the following idea, and mind you, I'm not as experienced in ranked yet to know what/how other leagues are experiencing this problem with, but I would like to see a measurement that prevents the whole team from crashing down in rank if a player prematurely leaves (or goes idle ingame)

Makes sense, but the problem is that you'll then get into a position where teams will have a sacrificial leaver to avoid losing their position in a losing game.

what oh dear rito could do, is increase the severity of punishment for leaving or dc'ing out of a ranked game and make it so the loss is prevented if someone does happen to dc or leave the game. Obviously this could be abused by people duo queuing and having 1 person leave just before they lose, to combat this riot could just make the system not prevent the loss (whilst simultaneously punishing the leaver) if the person who dc'd or left is duo queuing with someone in the match.
