Riot, simply allow me to express myself

Edit: Please read completely and thoroughly before posting.

I just received a 14-day ban for inting in 1 game. Just one game. I feel like this was very unfair and I am about to explain why. Now I am not asking for my ban to be lifted or anything like that. All I want is for riot to hear my concerns.

First it began in champion select. I hovered over Kayn and when banning phase begun, our adc banned Kayn. Now, of course I was mad. It really irked me how I go to a game and my own ally bans my pick. If the enemy bans him then on well that's part of the game. However this man was on my team and banned Kayn anyways. I have no idea if this was on purpose or an accident. I don't even think he payed attention to ANY part of champion selection. There was no response from this player at the time. It was very annoying for me to see that this happens often for me or around me. Yet nothing is done about it.

Some people don't have time to play a lot of games. Some people are overloaded with the daily things they have to deal with and in their free time they would like to play league. Sometimes you just really want a specific champion. And I am aware that people can simply play blind pick. However there are pros and cons to draft and blind pick. Some people really only prefer one or two roles. Some people really only prefer one or two champions. You can't have both of these. It is always one or the other.

And aside from that, some people simply enjoy the strategic feeling of draft pick. Making pre-game plans and deductions based on who your allies picked and who the enemy picked is part of the game. Some people enjoy that. Yet there is no time for a lot of gaming. If someone bans your pick, that is 20-40 minutes of you having to go through a game where you aren't enjoying any of it and have to wait to play who you wanted to. It wastes time and you are forced to play in order to avoid a leavebuster. Being forced to play a game you really don't want to play? That's not fun, personally at least I don't find that fun.

By feeding I then had in mind to achieve two things.

  1. End the game quickly

  2. Draw attention to the importance of not banning your own allie's pick.

I'll take the ban. I suppose that is how the system works, but please riot, perhaps consider implementing some sort of way to prevent allies from banning each other's picks.

I would also like to note that I did not flame at all in that entire game. I was even honored and thanked by the gangplank on my team for defending myself well and not attacking my own team. I don't know how to pull up chat logs at the time but I would love to show riot.

You admitted you were inting. Plain and simple, you deserved the ban. I wish they would permaban people who inted in games, but I rarely see them get punished even at all.

You can't just decide on your own that "I need to end this quickly because I'm personally not enjoying it and the quickest way to do it is via inting" in the middle of a team. It's like you're that guy who end up in a soccer team or something that they don't like, but instead of just putting no effort into it, they actively score their own goal.

It doesn't matter whether or not you'd flamed for "defending" yourself (I don't think there is any defence of anything), that's just bad. A very shitty attitude to say the least.

Sure, people banning each other's picks can be a problem at times, but they can also happen by accident where they might not see that the champ is hovered by a teammate. So, given that you're so interested in defending people's position after something's gone wrong, why would you int the game given that you SAID SO YOURSELF that you "have no idea if this was on purpose or an accident"??

And no "Draw attention to the importance of not banning your own allie's pick" via inting is NOT a correct course of action. Messing things up to "send a message" is how vandals, gangsters, terrorists or whatever kinds of people from that walk of the society, does things; coincidentally (maybe not so much) it's also how kids do about things when it doesn't go the way they want it. You're not a hero or some kind of superior entity that is above the law and common decency.

So no, you're just a selfish prick, despite you wanna make it sound like you're a level head. You really aren't. Though that's somewhat irrelevant, because you got banned for inting, which is against the rules; you should've known better given how much Riot is against inting.

You admitted to inting, you deserve the ban. End of story.

Didn't read past this point. You admitted to intentionally feeding and thus your ban is deserved.

There is no justification that could have possibly followed that would have gained any sympathy or understanding from me. Too bad it wasn't a permaban.

You could have dodged the game

"Defending myself" "Not attacking my own team" If you inted, you really didn't do either: you did the opposite. You can't be punished for banning an ally's hover. I don't like it, but you shouldn't be punished if that pick can fall into the enemy team's hands. If you had first pick, then I think you'd have a case when you report them at the end game-screen.

I applaude you for admitting to it and not lying about it. For being upfront about it and not inting consistently throughout your life, and for only doing it one time. This game is absolutely flooded with trolls and inting, and Riot does nothing. But most people do it consistently and try to do it relatively covertly, and Riot does literally next to nothing about it. Yours was the 1 in hundreds of millions of cases where it happens they actually did anything about. Bad luck for you.

I give you my 2 cents.

You have to understand one really important facet in draft: pick order. If you are not first on the list and cannot agree to get solid switch on first pick, there just is champions you have to ban to prevent giving enemies good chance to take them. I know this hurt feelings of players, but that is just fact. If he did attack you personally before banning, reporting him might work, but only might, as Riot does not give pre-game chat to the artificial stupidity system thus people can be really toxic and still safe. I have wondered why RIot games cannot do such minor trivial database job to do it ? Apparently their system is so badly designed that only human work can figure out which chat belong to which game...

Kayn is very hard champion to play against by majority of squishy damage-focused players. I myself assess Kayn as quite balanced champion, which is really really rare event RIot has been able to succeed in that task.

This is why I have several times suggested Riot should start employing professionals not geeks. And get their employees some university grade programming and database classes. As it is blatantly apparent they are either incompetent in programming or their management is incompetent in scheduling and planning. Quite likely both. ALl they can do well is minor tweaking of abilities, and creation of new skins and champions, thus work done with game engine scripting language, not real programming language.
