I never realized how harsh the instant feedback system has gotten

Before you read it and think it's just another rant of oh why did I get banned, trust me, its different.

I haven't played league a lot lately, I just started getting back after a few months of barely playing. I've never been punished for anything before either. I don't use chat often, if at all. But today in the one game a day I've been playing to have fun I did something I'll admit was out of the ordinary. I wrote kys. And I also bmed a little. But I did it in just one game. In this past week I've been getting back to league I have barely written in chat at all.

The chat log reads Cabruh: kysd Cabruh: kys Cabruh: ok dont kys Cabruh: all bot Cabruh: gg Cabruh: u lose Cabruh: haha

literally thats it

so the first 3 lines, when taken out of context, seem like I targeted someone for no reason. Thing is, I meant it jokingly to the person who just dcd from the game. He never really saw it. When he reconnected, I wrote "ok dont kys" kind of as a joking manner to which I meant to tell my other teammates, "oh hes back, we dont have to remake and waste time". There are understandable frustrations with players who dc and force a remake. If a rioter checks it, theyll see the timestamps check out for when the player dcs and reconnects.

I'll admit that I was kind of dickish to write haha and u lose at the end. I don't know if the system picked up on it but I'll admit it was kind of wrong, kind of like saying ggez (though lots of people get away with that)

I just don't know. When the chat is taken completely out of context and is read by a robot who finds one uncensored 3 letter word and I get a 14 day ban because of it, I just feel a little pushed away from a game I was hoping to get back into on the verge of worlds. I'm in high school, and I know I'm a little bit crude and edgy, but I really love messing around with friends on league. This feels a bit harsh and makes me kind of upset I can't do that at all for the next two weeks.

"kys" has been earning people 14 day bans for almost 2 years now.

Honestly, it's never ok to write that, even as a "joke".

kys has almost always been an instant 14 day or perma depending on your history its not something that just randomly happened over night

If you're in high school, be careful joking around like that. My high school had a massive streak of suicides in the years after I graduated. You may be in a healthy spot yourself, but you have no idea the pressure and struggles the people around you face each day. You'd never forgive yourself if your careless words actually pushed somebody over the edge.

You are not permitted to use the abbreviation for "kys". That has been a thing for ages. Doesn't matter what you use it for, you're not permitted to use it at all. Period. No one is.

Doesn't matter the context, don't use it. Same for any other zero tolerance. You're not going to try to find a loophole and thinking you won't get punished for it. You knew the risk and you got burnt. Now you face the consequence.

Zero-tolerance means ZERO-TOLERANCE.

Yeah, that is not cool. Do you honestly wish upon someone's life over a game? I hope not, either way. Ban approved. Easy, just don't do that again. It is very distasteful and may cause real-life harms to people. You simply don't know what the person on the other side of the screen is going through for real man...

Kys should not be used in any context

You don't ever tell someone to kys. joke or not. Period. Good riddance.

Lol "ok dont kys"... kinda funny. Anyways, i think it got you just because of repeating it. I once let the f-word (the gay one) slip in an ARAM and thought oh fuck im definitely getting fucked now. But nobody even responded to it and I didnt say anything else all game. Nothing happened. This was a while ago, so maybe it has gotten stricter, but i think its just cuz i said it once and there was no other flame before or after. Since you repeated kys a few times, I think thats why they hit you with the ban. (Sidenote; when you get a little older, youre gonna cringe at memories of describing yourself as "edgy" lol. God damn that was hard to read. Youll see when youre older)

The Instant feedback system has been like this for a while now, but KYS has been on RIots no-no words for a good long time now.

no one wants someone to die (unless you do hate them with a burning passion). especially over something like a video game.

Racial slurs and other swear words get past the system due its.... questionable use in modern songs and conversation. kys is hard to comeby in a daily casual conversation. KMS however, is.

Kaioko10/12/2018, 3:35:19 PM2 votes

KYS has no place in chat and League has made it extensively clear that it will get you banned very quickly. Considering how ridiculously high student suicide rates are one would think that you wouldn't have considered it remotely acceptable to type those words.

Rated T for teen? https://gyazo.com/be05965e66056d0e737d022382f87540

So much for being permitted to crude humor, strong language, or suggestive themes.

Change the game to a E rating, tweak your lore and characters, and then you kids can enjoy being emotionally unstable on your club penguin edition of LoL.

If a game is pushing you over the edge, then real life is going to do the job in loads. If someone whos "toxic" shouldn't play. Then someone emotionally, and mentally unstable shouldn't be playing either. They should be in a psych ward, getting real help. Not talking to their boo on a game of LoL, reporting anyone who damages their fragile feelings. You people are as bad as the group you resent for being "mean".
