with the current system of reporting I see no point in trying to maintain honor any longer. I have played this game since season 2 and I have been reported maybe 3 times in 8+ years. I barely argue with people in game and I never use profane language or hate speech towards anyone.

I was on the verge of hitting honor 4 last season and I had one game with a premade of 4 people. my support was inting and so I complained in chat and tried to ff, they all reported me and I was insta chat restricted and lost all honor.

Since then I climbed back nearly to honor 3 and then it happens again. I get put in a game with a premade of 4 people. I get shit on in top lane, camped by enemy jungle and have a hopelessly bad lane phase. My jungler literally does nothing to help me but I dont say anything. After a failed ff vote at 15 mins I pretty much give up on the game. I cant farm or get back into it and the enemy team is winning in every lane. Suddenly the adc on my team starts flaming me and blaming me for the game, so I defend myself in chat and point out what my teammates could have done to help the situation. I did not afk, I did not stop playing, and I did not even curse or say anything rude. I did die a lot but thats because the enemy team were all fed and we did not ff.

After the game my whole team (premade 4) reports me and I get a chat restriction and lose all my honor. so my question is why even bother trying to build up honor again? any 4 man can just report you and you are instantly punished. since when can you get a chat restriction for not even saying anything bad? the whole report system is such a joke, allowing butthurt losers to ruin someone elses experience is the opposite of what riot claims they are trying to achieve.

It doesn't work like that. Reports only trigger a review, and the review doesn't take how many reports were received into consideration.

If you haven't cleared your chat restriction, I suggest you copy and paste the chat logs here; you wouldn't have gotten punished for no reason, so odds are fairly high that you're either missing something or ignoring your own misbehavior out of bias.

And in case you doubt me on number of reports not mattering, here's a quote from Riot Tantram sharing a snippet of the IFS code.

Reports haven't lost weight since the instant feedback system was put in place.

It's actually really simple.

if (reports > 0) { review(); }

It reads the value stored in the "reports" variable as a boolean flag, and if there's any number of reports greater than a value of zero, it calls the "review()" function. Also worth pointing out; it's "review()", not "review(reports)", meaning that the review of your behavior is not influenced by the amount of reports you receive. Once the review() function is called, the amount of reports don't matter.

reported 3 times in 8 years... you know mods can warn me for what im about to say next but sorry it has to be said: in my 26 years of lifetime, i have never read a more delusional statement EVER! this honestly takes the crown. if this guy would send in a ticket requesting to see how many reports he got in his last 100 games, he'd prob die from the shock.

but to make my command "helpful" well you said you complained in chat and wanted to ff... so you broke the rules and got punished for it. whats the problem? the only "power" 4man premades have is that its more likely you'll get reported. thats it. with 4 randoms the chance of them "forgiving" you or just forgetting to report you is high. but with premades that are in voice, one will remind to report you. thats literally all their "power"

4 reports is the same as 1, they only result in a review of the game.

Maybe you should look at your chatlog closely and identify what is wrong in your chat.

If you can't identify your own, you can paste you chatlogs here or submit a ticket to Riot support.

Its a 10 game chat restriction, ive had 2 of these in 8 years. I dont think that qualifies as someone with bad behavior history. I've also been honor 4 every season since honor was introduced until last season. this is the point of my post.

I am not blaming my teammates for making me negative, I am aware it is 100% up to me how to behave, what I am saying is that by riot punishing this (what I see as very mild negativity) it discourages good behavior in normally positive players.

I go 99% of games without saying anything bad or negative to anyone. once in a blue moon I have a really bad game combined with flaming teammates that results in some unpleasant banter in chat. sure it's negative, but does it undo everything positive you have ever said? well according to riot, it does.

so why would I care about honor anymore, why would I try to be a positive member of the community when in one single moment of weakness it can all be undone. it takes many many months of excellent behavior and honors to get to lvl 4 and you can lose it all in an instant for something not even that bad.

I understand 100% why they punish people who use bad language, excessive cursing, derogatory terms etc, but I think chat restricting someone for the things I said is overkill, and psychologically it does not make me want to be a more positive community member, it has the opposite effect actually, it makes me not care or bother to even try and be good when I can lose everything over such a petty incident.

How do you know you have been reported only 3 times in 8 years. People report people without saying anything you know. It could be allot more. Theres also a way to check by sending a support ticket and they will tell you the number of reports against you (the number for each category, which is actually pretty interesting, I got reported for offensive name twice before, and even the number of reports you have made recently.) But anyway, I would do that, because im willing to put money on you getting reported more than 3 times in 8 years

The problem is that you tried to defend yourself. The current system doesn't allow you to defend yourself by pointing out the faults or mistakes of others because that behavior can be categorized as being 'Negative'. Even though you didn't start it and they may have been very toxic to begin with. Riot only looks at your logs.

I don't see anything here to cause a chat restriction. Especially considering I did not say a word to anyone until my teammates started flaming me. Of course this log only shows what I said and not what was being said to me. Still, what here did I say that is worth reporting?

so saying anything unproductive in chat is bannable? I reported the ekko and the cait for flaming me and I am willing to bet they did not get any punishment. again, im not saying I behaved well this game, but everything I said was in DIRECT RESPONSE to people flaming and blaming me. so I dont see how it is fair that I get punished and they don't.

You say my log is littered with insults and harassment? I think you have a really poor definition of harassment...You also claim not believe that I didn't type in chat until provoked, I am sorry you feel that way but it is true. I did not type a single thing until my team began to berate me in chat.
