I'm a big fan of the "/mute all" feature. 90% of my games as soon as someone starts getting toxic I just hit it.

I got on today and had a pretty crappy day, so in my first game of the day when my jungler fed my lane doubles at 3 minutes I was a little ticked but said nothing at first, jungle flames me for not calling mia I tell him i did and to listen to my 'f^^^ing pings'. I die to the laner who now had doubles, jungle calls me bad, i call him bad, yadda yadda some more back and forth like that making quips at eachother nothing crazy. A minute later I hit the "/mute all" get my head in the game start coming back. (playing nasus just stacking hard). So I'm making good rotations now helping my team were coming back it's all great when I go top to stack another fat wave I set up to stack up some more. The ADC decided those were her minions now, I was sitting there hitting them 1 at a time for max stacks and up rolls jinx, while Im furiously pinging her back, with hurricane sharks to steal the whole 5-6 waves from me. unmuted everyone. I tell her to "Go F^^^ herself" tell the team to stop fucking me over yadda yadda. Turns out she had me muted as well and just thought it was fine to not let me stack anymore.

At the end of the game I felt bad about how toxic that game was and I mentally told myself I needed to hit that "/mute all" earlier next game.

Next game rolls up and I'm chat banned.

I'm in no way saying that I wasn't toxic that game. But does Riot really expect every player to be 100% non-toxic every single game? People arn't allowed to have a bad day here without getting punished?

I was probably toxic for like 5 minutes in the beginning of that game and 3 minutes near the end, I re-muted everyone again and we pulled the game out and won.

You got one example, that does not mean it was a chat restriction for one game.

You can. You can have a bad everyday, if you would like.

But in the real world, if you start taking your bad day out on other people, the staff of the store you are in will ask you to stop. That is what has happened here.

The system punishes based on consistency x severity. Meaning you can be punished with 1 severe toxicity game, or you can be punished with 100 games of minor toxicity.

You weren't punished for 1 game alone. The reform card only shows you 1-5 recent games as examples of unacceptable behavior. It won't show on the reform card if it's passed the "recent" period.

One thing I tell people is that League has a very tolerable system where swearing and dark humor(to a restricted extent) is allowed, but what you did is stated by the following:

Harrassment: Its not, but thats how you probably got reported insult >your so shitty which is out of many cases.

Chat Restriction is the least harsh, the league system is not something that builds up your toxicity and slams the hammer down when it reaches a point.

x number of confirmed reports over y games x number of confirmed reports over y days x percentage of games over y period resulted in a confirmed report x games in a row resulted in a confirmed report Average confirmed report score with a minimum number of samples Total (sum of all confirmed reports, ever) score above a certain value Total (sum of past x games/days) score above a certain value

Its fully automated and will instantly ban you for some forms of hate speech.
