We Should Be Able To Dodge Ques/Not Be Matched With People We Report

I know this is something that has definitely been stated before, but this is something that i feel could make the game better and it would be relatively simple to change. (First parts pretty common sense) Nothing is worse then getting qued up with someone who obviously is going to bring the team down (I only play this role, I'm gonna play so outta meta there's no way I'm gonna survive my first jungle clear etc...). With the current system when you see someone like that you have 2 options you either play the game potentially wasting 20 minutes (at least) and losing around 20 lp or dodging and not being able to play for 5 minutes and losing 3 lp. If you play the game (and don't rage at the troll) you have to sit there and watch your team get smashed and you all lose the points. If you dodge YOU GET PENALIZED for "ruining the que for others" and you lose points. Now that being said, I don't dodge often I will try to stick it out with most people. But when there is someone who is raging out in champ select and I can't calm them down I opt to lose the 3 points and 5 minutes. Now i used to be a toxic player, I got my 2 week ban over a year ago and have been good since. Nothing breeds toxicity like having to watch your team feed for 20 minutes when you knew they were going to before the match even started. So after you dodge the first match your next dodge will ban you for an hour and you lose more lp (i don't remember how much its been a while). This is where I really see a problem with the system.

(If you know the how dodging currently works start here). The current system Penalizes players who are genuinely trying to play the game. While letting the players who are raging and trolling continue in the system without being reported. I understand that making it so that players can dodge as much as they want won't help the problem. Players would just continually dodge ques until they got the role they wanted/champ they wanted and match making would probably take forever for 10 people to settle into their picks. But banned a player who anticipates their match being no fun because of certain players seems really backwards. In my opinion, the system should be aimed at making matches MORE ENJOYABLE for everyone. I can easily que up with someone who is trolling mute them when the game starts and then try to carry them (which happens a lot currently). However these games are not enjoyable win or lose. There is no teamwork, it's usually a 2v5 using trolls as meat shields (sorry Trundle). And if its a day where I happen to get multiple games with these people (which happens). I have to chose to either NOT PLAY FOR AN HOUR or endure another 20 minutes of watching a person feed/eat people with TahmKench and run under towers. Like really, my teammate wants to lose the game (or isn't willing to try to win) but I get the hour ban?

(proposition) Just make it so dodging ALWAYS gives you the 5 minute ban and makes you lose 3Lp. That's enough of a deterrent to keep people from continually dodging matches. Other things would be nice like: being able to report the reason you dodged/the player you were dodging because of. NOT BEING MATCHED WITH PEOPLE YOU REPORTED THE PREVIOUS GAME (basically speaks for itself, common sense, come on). Maybe having one "Free" dodge with no penalties per day. But really at a minimum I feel if it was ALWAYS a 5 minute ban that would do wonders for the system.

(If you wanna not read all that start here)

I think the 5min wait and 3LP lost is a good idea. But the whole not being able to queue with the person you reported just isn't going to happen. You and I both know people will abuse it so that they'll report basically everyone on their team who doesn't do well. This will leave queue times to go up for those people because they'll report everyone, cheat the system, and more than likely queue up with people far below, or at a much higher ranking then they are currently.

I suspect the increasing time penalties are there to discourage players from dodging to artificially lower their ranking. I can remember some high-ranked players would dodge down to bronze so they could stream bronze-to-gold/plat/diamond.

They need something to discourage dodging without being overly punative. A flat 5-min delay is pretty much nothing. I've waited longer just to get into champion select when a bunch of players decline or fail to accept the game.

The combination of LP loss and increasing time restrictions forces the player to think about whether it's worth dodging.

I had an issue that someone was actually extremely abusive with the way he was talking "go kill yourself, I hope someone kills you" so I blocked him. Somehow, I got him in my next champ select. If I ban someone, I do NOT ever want to play with them again. Needless to say, the game was a fluke and it was very miserable. Not sure what they can do for people who abuse the blocking system but that was god awful.

A immunity system to people reported by a player would just get abused. People who bot lane in low elos would pretty much report every support that isn't above average to game the system to give them a smurf or gold level+ player stuck there. (Support is the least played in bronze.)

More of a need for rewards for people who play through and don't dodge because they have a disadvantage over those that use metagamed information where they avoid being dumpstered by a potato ally or griefed otherwise.
