The ruling on AFKing needs to be looked at.

This is just as bad as calling someone a racial slur in game, and if you could possibly explain otherwise, I'm all ears.

I don't care if you have a power outage, or if you're just mad at the game. You left the game, meanwhile I'm on your team having to play a 4v5 while everyone else's demeanor has been lowered and the surrender option just pops on my screen. Sure, you could give me the "well it's awesome if you're on the other team who doesn't have an afk". Nah, not really. My demeanor has still been lowered because I didn't earn my win. So, I'm just sitting here waiting for the game to end for a good 5-10 minutes. All of the laning phase, and first blood, and successful invading or baron steals just completely gets nullified because of one person.

To be quite frank with you, and this is the entire purpose of this post, the punishment for leaving a game is laughable and needs to be more punishing. I don't care if your record is clean, meaning that you've never once AFK'd in your totality of playing the game, that doesn't make it less annoying for the people who were in your game.

If you AFK for any reason, it should be an entire days worth of ban from playing the game on that account. It should also increase in severity for multiple accounts, going up to a week. If you really AFK that frequently, then you're either A: Way too busy to be playing the game to begin with, B: Have absolutely no sense of responsibility or C: You're just leaving the game because you lack empathy for other players and are a borderline sociopath.

umm.....

if you could possibly explain otherwise, I'm all ears.

sure... here goes....

I don't care if you have a power outage

calling someone a racial slur is a willful act. Having power outage forcing you to afk that is not within your control is not a willful act.

Way too harsh. Any sort of afk? Like if i just get disconnected for a minute because internet connections are an imperfect human invention? Just bam, banned for a day? Do i lose my honor too?

I would certainly not want a full day ban because my internet goes out or something else outside my control causes it. I agree with that sort of thing if you keep going afk repeatedly...but if you've had an over-all good record and after months you have a power outage or your internet goes out or life happens, like its an emergency and harsh penalties wouldn't be fair. Of course it is frustrating if a team mate leaves even if its not intentional but that is what early surrender is for or just normal surrendering if it happens later in game.

Also even when it does happen on accident sometimes you still get a small time penalty before you can load into another match, I think that is harsh enough.

Going afk could be related to a myriad of issues, some of which can be unintentional or at times, entirely out of the player's hands. That's entirely different from using slurs.

If the behavior is severe enough, you can be suspended for afk'ing.
