Is this really worthy of a 2 week suspension?

All of this was said in team chat. Why does saying curse words, not directed towards someone, result in a ban. Why if someone is offended by curse words are they not using the chat filter? I didnt harass anyone. I didnt talk shit. I didnt flame anyone. I was being camped by a twitch jungle, and someone said " wow he really likes your lane" And i said, " i know, hes a %%%got". So that deserves a 2 week ban? If you want to make this game just for children, then why arent all curse words perma censored? There was no harassment here. There was no being toxic. I

please take your politically correctness and shove it up your ass. The word %%%got, can be used as a word to describe many different types of people.
Just like the word FUCK is used to describe many diffrent things. It's all subjective. If the word is so offensive, then why isnt it ALWAYS CENSORED.

Yes, that is exactly what it is. Using %%%got as an insult, even if you aren't actually talking about their sexuality, implies that you consider being gay to be bad. Otherwise you wouldn't consider it an insult.

I consider at insult because he used it as an insult. You could have replaced %%%got there with any of a million different words and it would be an insult.

The word does have other meanings, but he clearly was not using it to mean any of those things.

Even if you want to say that it's not hate speech(though I will disagree) it is unquestionably being used as an insult.

Yeah and thats the thing. He clearly wasnt using it to speak against homosexual people either (like.. he might, idk, but most people dont). I also never said he didnt use it as an insult, but its in no way automatically "homophobic".

You dont understand, "%%%got" is derogatory term for homosexual people. By using it to insult others, you basically imply that being homosexual is bad, you compare someones ingame actions to homosexuality.

Hate speech is taken very seriously. It would be best if you simply reword what you want to say to omit such language. Cursing in general is not typically frowned upon, but directing it at another player is.

However, i said that in team chat. He didnt see what i wrote. And if my teammates are offended by curse words why arent they using a chat filter? So i have to type out, " wow, this guy sure is a rude person for sitting in my lane camping me"? Is this game seriously catered that much towards children...?

Riot has said previously that the exsistence of a filter is not a valid reason to mouth off excessively.

Also it was likely not just that one gamr that got you a 2 week ban. But rather that game was the last nail in the coffin so to speak. You dont jump to a 2 week ban without a crazy reason. So im guessing youve had your 2 chat restrictions already.

AND, to even add to this, THIS IS NOT HATE SPEECH. By using the word %%%got, i wasnt implying him being an actual homosexual and him being a lesser person for being homosexual. The word is a very common word used to describe someone who is just an ass hole. If curse words are a bannable offense, then why arent all curse words perma censored

It doesn't matter what your intention of the slur is, it isn't acceptable by most people's standards.

And even if the subject of your slur was unable to see it that does not make it ok.

If you don't want to accept the rules then don't click the "I Agree" button that pops up every patch explaining that this behavior is not allowed. Terms of Service can be read at any time at the bottom of this page, in case you forgot or ignored them.

LOL. Idk man, nothing in the chat log is said directly to any specific individual. If ALL curse words are considered ban worthy, then all curse words should be censored.

Listen, taken from context it looks like you said it the way everybody else says it, and you're simply just now trying to cover your ass. Even if that isn't true, you still said something that could be interpreted very wrong. You deserve your two week suspension.

I already mentioned that cursing in general is not typically frowned upon. Hate speech is a whole different league from cursing. I curse all the time, I just don't use it to insult or try to antagonize other players. The line between just cursing and using them to the point of a ban is so huge it's ridiculous.

I mentioned this as well. Defending someone who is unable to defend themselves is a perfectly normal social function that occurs in real life, and applies to this case as well. You should expect that others don't like you using hate speech against another person even though they can't hear/see it.

Imagine your friend is insulting a mentally retarded child to their face. The child doesn't even realize how cruel your friend is being. Would you support your friend's behavior just because the child wasn't affected? Please say no so I don't get disgusted with you.

Regardless of what you think that word means, to many people the word is very offensive to the gay community. People have been killed over that word.

That right there is why you got a two-week suspension. Also, mocking Vayne's build is still a little rude. If you got the two week suspension in the first place you were probably punished very recently as well.

The suspension is completely justified. If you don't think so, you can create a ticket and argue with Riot about it.

look youre not ever going to win against riot, if they ban you or whatever you probably deserved it. I have had two accounts permanently banned and at the time I didn't think I was in the wrong. Fact is, just don't flame in game and you wont have to worry about any punishment whatsoever. Just try not to chat (mute everyone for example ) and youll be better off

Sexualization of characters is cool when you are only talking with close friends... you actually could have technically sexually harrassed an 8 year old

Sketchy, I probably wouldn't punish you for this game but I can see why some might. Still, this wasn't your only offense if you got a 2 week suspention and with the way you act in this game, I wouldn't be supprised to see games where you did act very inappropriately. You play a very dangerous game with that behavior.

If people are offended by slurs than they should have their filter on. If i had said in all chat, TWITCH YOURE A %%%GOT. Then i understand that i do deserve a punishment and im not arguing with that fact. But i didnt say it to him. I could have said, IM A HUGE %%%GOT, and i would have gotten banned. It makes no sense because the automated system only looks for words. And if it only looks for words than all curse words should be censored
