Reason why trolls and AFK-tilters are NOT banned...

Hi people of summoner's rift!

I am recently in platinum tier trying to climb my way into diamond. It is kind of brutal, but i am winning more then 50% of my games, so let's see where i'll end :)

to cut to the actual topic - Riot is not banning trolls, afkers, tilers, flamers, blamers and so on bacause:

MONEY!

Riot knows that these kind of people are usually the ones playing this game the most, therefor they are probably going to buy more RP than the rest of us tryharders trying to play to win in every single match :)

i think it is sad and i really want to hear your thoughts about this issue - been playing since S2 and the number of trolls and tilters i am getting is just growing rapidly :P

i am the overly positive guy, who talks alot, but ensures that my teammates are always right. For an example, if my toxic teammate dives into 3 people and dies close to me and spampings me "WTF LUX (im a lux-otp mid) OPEN UR EYES FFS, WHAT AM I PLAYING WITH, OMG THIS KIND OF TEAM AGAIN, FUCKK YOU ALL" i simply say: "oh damn! sry mate, i fcked up, mybad!"

i was once the guy to always type in chat, what we had to do and what my teammates had to stop doing (like soloing, trying to 1v1, roaming in enemy jungle, starting baron and so on) and i freaking got a 32 NORMAL GAMES PENALTY for that xD i was stunned. So now i stopped trying to be the leader in my team and simple just suckk up all the toxiness from my teammates - and i guess it is working? idk...

Well leave a coment about what u think of the RIOT = MONEYHORNY issue :)

Glad to hear! - looking at the downvotes i think people disagree with us tho... but that being said, i would like to hear some arguments from their side! i wanna see some proof that these people are getting banned :)

i read another thread, with a guy who had the same thoughts - he decided to troll, he managed to troll in 250 games - no ban recieved, then he stopped because his point was proven! that was scary reading!

Okay. I have personally seen some people come to this board banned for intentional feeding. They were just unaware that people could search up their match history.

There, proved you wrong. Riot bans people for intentionally feeding.

You don't see it on the boards too often because people who are banned for trolling know why they're banned. Doubling down when Riot can just make a fool out of them publicly is not something many of them are dumb enough to try.

Why would they disagree with me if my speech does not hurt them? For example, if the thief who steals from you loses both hands, will you cry of the thief?

a reason thread was made by a guy who had the same thoughts, he then decided to troll!

He managed to troll in 250 games without getting ANY kind of ban, then he stopped trolling because he had proven his point...

that is a scary thought :)

im just curious WHY trolls and extreme-tilters are growing in numbers

Obviously the system isn't perfect (there's always room for improvement with it) and players can sometimes slip through the cracks from time to time but gameplay trolls do get punished as well. In case you don't believe me Here are two examples of gameplay trolls being banned. Yes it's just two examples, but it proves that they do get punished.

P.S. And before you say "oh that's not good enough" or "oh that proves nothing", just note that you claimed that gameplay trolls don't get banned and yet I provided two examples that prove otherwise.

thank you for those examples :) i still think there should be much harder punishments than there is - ranked should be taken seriously imo. :)

but i just dont think riot would get more strict, because they will lose money from the trolls / hard-tilters.

I don't follow your logic there. As it stands toxic players just drive business away, so it's actually in Riot's benefit to remove the players who don't want to reform. If the toxic players make new accounts, that's their choice, but they'll quickly find that behaving in the same way that got their older accounts permabanned will result in the same thing happening again. Think of it this way: the more time one spends raging and flaming at someone the less time that they're spending actually playing the game itself. Kei143 made a post that talks a little about it and it goes as followed:

When Riot permabans someone, their philosophy is "the chances of this guy reforming isn't a whole lot, we'd rather not have him in the game". Thus in their eyes, they have already written off the toxic player as a paying client.

From a business standpoint, do they want to remove the toxic guy who has spent $500 but is causing a negative environment for 4-9 other players in every game? Those non-toxics are also spending $500 and probably will spend more, promote the game more when they are enjoying the game AND they won't cause a negative environment.

I personally think it is a fine argument to protect the ones that are paying money and aren't toxic rather than protecting the ones that may pay the same amount but are toxic.
