How to deal with Harassment in chat.
This is an experience I recently had after playing in a Normal 5v5 match, a Tl;Dr is at the bottom if you're not interested.
Recently, I partook in a Normal 5v5 on Summoners Rift as Nunu Support (I tend to play off-meta in Normals, specifically for fun) where I watched as the enemy team fought amoungst themselves. At post-game, I watched 4 out of the 5 members of the team argue at one another. From what I could procieve, it was a teammate who had been doing exceptionally well Belittling his teammates for performing poorly, specifically the enemy Zed who had been crushed early. After about 5-10 minutes, the Summoner who played well left the chat, along with another who was rather quiet the entire time. I had interjected myself into the conversation & politely gave advice to the remaining opponent's. I chatted with these players for what felt almost like an hour, they began to unwind & before I knew it, all the negativity that was there had completely vanished. I wasn't expecting the reaction that I received from them, nor the 30-45 minute conversation that transpired. If you guys ever had to deal with this kind of thing & want to know how to deal with it, here's how I deal with it: "If you make a mistake or two & a teammate gets angry at you for it, promptly mute him or her & focus on the task at hand (Surviving Laning phase, jungling, etc). If you allow a player to get under your skin, whether it's an enemy (in that case keep /allchat off, don't need that negativity in your games) or an ally, it will negatively impact your performance even further." I have taken this mentality to Solo Queue & so far it has done rather well.
Quick version: Promptly & calmly mute the player in question & focus on your lane. You will feel alot better & in some cases, play alot better in your games.
