I have a hard time deciding to buy freelo champs or champs that i actually like.
I want wukong, garen, basically every tank in the game, but i also want zed and lee sin

"Freelo champs" are only "freelo" if you're any good with them. So many people play them expecting a free, easy win only to fail miserably. I've yet to see a Skarner that's been a true terror, on either side. I've seen dozens of devour junglers ruin matches for teams, again on both sides. Like I had a Yi who sucked for most of the match, got some lucky kills once he got Sated, went on a tear, then started ulting past us into 1v5s and dying. We ended up losing that match.
If you're going to play "freelo champs," then play ones that fit you and your playstyle. When I was first starting to learn support, I picked Janna because "freelo." Sucked with her because she didn't fit me at that point in time. Picked Sona for the same reason, and did a little better, but still wasn't having nearly as much success as I was hoping for. Then I tried Nautilus, because I love tanks and his LCS popularity brought him to my attention. Wouldn't you know it, I ended up having much more success and finally feeling like a proper support.
So stick mostly to the champions you want to play and/or think you'd be good with, I say.
