@Morello: Can we expect another RPG-esque type of Mage champion coming soon?

TL;DR: I'm just asking if such a champion is in production. If not I think you should totally start on with this, but that's just my opinion

It's been a while since you guys released Syndra (2 years ago September 2012), who identify as a mage and not another character archetype who just happened to possess magical power for whatever reason. Then Lulu in March 2012 and then it stretches a long way to October 2010 LeBlanc (a Black Rose Mage), Lux (a Light Mage) and maaybe Swain who might tilt more toward Noxian General than a Mage. (Also Karma is more of a monk than a mage in my opinion)

The reason is that I love the mage fantasy and that there's so much more potential for other types of magic where the core feelings is "I'm weilding dark/fire/spirit/megawesomexploding magic power!". But not like "I'm an emperor and I rule!" or "I'm an Ice Witch I kidnap your babies!", those are cool too but they don't really fit the RPG mage fantasy, they just fit the role.

Lissandra is an ice mage and Azir is a sand mage. Karma is pretty much a cleric, which I would say count. I really don't see your issue here. Also, what else within the "RPG-esque type of Mage" category is there left really? Most have been done already.

Lissandra isn't a mage, She is a Witch, her powers are granted by the watchers, She has a mage play style but not character, it's like Brand he plays the same as a mage but isn't one,

Personally I want a really studious bookish type who constantly mocks the fools who think raw power makes them great, I.E. Points out that Syndra knows almost no actual spells and instead just makes spheres and throws them with her power, Or how Xerath for all his boasting relies on brute force to fight,

How is a witch not a mage? And if Brand isn't a mage, what is?

No he had a natural connection to that thorn magic, I mean a guy who had to study everything he knows, No rituals no natural talent, just hours and hours spent working hard and learning, who if given 1/10th of Xerath's power would be able to achieve 10 times as much because he actually understand it on a deeper level then reflex.

Ryze does preffer to study magic over using it though. While he did feel a deeper and more primal connection to magic than most others, he never had any extrodinary talent for it. He tirelessly traveled across valoran to learn as much as much as he could about different types of magic (thorn magic just being special). He isn't exactly young either, so I have no problem believing he spent at least 20+ years doing all of this. I'd say he fills your criterias quite well.

I think Ryze is fine as a mage, but compared to all the other champions who identify themselves as warriors/fighters (Garen, Darius, Xin Zhao, Olaf, Pantheon, Riven...) or rogues/assassins (Quinn, Zed, Talon, Akali, Kat, Twitch...), true mages are rare, and the scholar types even less so (Pretty much only Ryze and Zilean).

I suppose it depends on what people consider true mages, but I'd like at least a champion who kind of fit more into the RPG setting where the player feels sort of like the "main character" (I think that is one of the major things that makes Riven awesome)

And while Ryze is kind of OK he needs work on the visual front, He looks to thugish for me, and his goofy beard with baldness hurts any cool factor he may have, I'm talking a mage that is a book worm but still cool, Like Seto Kaiba with Magic, And the writers not screwing him worse then he does the rules.

Oh pretty much just anything really, I feel like it would be greater if they focus more on the champion themself than what they do. Like how they did with Syndra, who wanted to be unbound or Lulu who is vibrant in her personality, and the way her spells were just enhance her character a lot.

But something we haven't had would be nice maybe. Like an elementalist, or.. a force mage (controlling the force of gravity or something). Or a counter-mage, who specializes in stopping other mages.

The thing is there are better avenues than just being a mage. I mean look at Azir, he's the sand mage of league, but he's also the Emperor commanding soldiers. I feel like there's cool paths they can take without just following the paradigm of "Oh this fellow is a water mage/earth mage/lightning mage/gravity mage/whatever mage".

I think a element based mage who can manipulate elements and do tons of aoe burst damage would be neat! but we got already 2 mages in this year.. and probably need a marksmen or something?

We got both Jinx and Lucian last year. A tank or another support is what we need right now (and yes, I know Braum was recently released and fill both these criterias, but compare the amount of supports/tanks in this game to mages and fighters and you'll agree with me).
