advice please? life problem.

So, my friend and I play alittle bit of airsoft, i dont play that much at all, he plays ALOT, and over the weekend i went to an airsoft place with him and we played rounds and stuff, and there were some guys claiming they were marines and soldiers and shit, and so after i tell my dad (an israeli, who was in the idaf for 6 years,) and he tells me that its bullshit, no way a soldier plays airsoft after being in a war, and it seemed pretty true. simply driving me to go play with guns pissed of my dad and he hated seeing all the other kids in all their gear. so today in school im talking to my friend, and i'm like "you know those guys who say there soldiers at strike force,?" "yea what about them" "dude theres no way they are real soldiers," "shut the hell up you know nothing" (in my mind im like, ok... what went up his asshole?) and so then im like "ok.. chill and second, dude my dad, my uncle, and basically everyone in my family and all my family friends have been soldiers... they hate even talking about guns" then he rages n shit for 4 more minutes. so i just let it go and he just walks away all pissed and shit.. like what the fuck'? what offended him... he doesnt even know any of those guys, let alone have any relatives who are in the military. (which by the way are the most obvious liars there are, seeing how they obviously arent soldiers, theres like a million different signs, such as when people ask them what regiment and stuff they have no idea, and they clearly have 0 experience, and they basicaly no nothing of how the army works, and they are like 20, and everyone else is about 14....) so i dont get what set him off, can anyone help me wrap my head around this.
