Lux's next skin

Is there any word on why Lux's next skin is taking so long? It's been a couple years since the Steel Legion fiasco, and we're still waiting on the Lux skin that Morello said that Lux would get eventually, and since then, we've had no meaningful reply regarding the skin's status or existence.

I also want to take advantage of the bonus RP thing going on, as I got a walmart gift card for Christmas, but the only thing that I would want to buy is the as of yet, non-existent Lux skin, and I don't want to tie up $25 on something that still may not exist for another year.

I totally agree Lux does not need any more military themed skins! This has also been reiterated in our meetings, we are well aware :)

We aren't able to reveal what skins we're working on or could be potentially working on, that's just the nature of the beast =/ The best I could suggest is checking out the PBE forums and sites that post about what is on PBE to get a good idea of what skins are coming out the coming patch.

I've been keeping up with what's been going on on the PBE for the past couple years, just hoping for another Lux skin to show up, to no avail. I know you can't give specifics, as much as I and many others would love to know what they are, as we are just tired of waiting and tired of not knowing when, if at all, our skin is coming.

If anything, It makes me feel a bit better that you guys are still aware that it needs to be done, but even then, nothing beats knowing for sure that a skin is coming. I'm still hoping by some miracle that Lux is getting the ultimate skin, but I'm not expecting it.

You can also view upcoming (tentative) changes on websites like Surrender@20, but it should be MASSIVELY NOTED that most of the changes are in fact TENTATIVE.

As long as you make sure to take that into account (and Moobeat copy-pastes his warning that all PBE content is tentative EVERYWHERE), Surrender@20 is very good at keeping you up-to-date with all PBE updates.

I have seen those sites, but not the PBE forum itself. I have to say, also, that I have yet to see a Sona change that hasn't gone to live.

Cheerleader Lux, who throws her baton and pom-poms. Specifically, you make 4 pallette swaps of her to be released at worlds (TSM Lux, CLG Lux, C9 Lux, etc I don't follow pros) and you can buy them individually for 975 or as a bundle for 1820.

Long story short, back when Steel Legion Lux was leaked onto the PBE (December of 2012), many Lux fans were pissed off because it was her third military themed skin in a row, when many of us wanted something a bit more girly and fitting of her personality, and Riot wouldn't explain why they did what they did until Garen's skin was revealed mid-January 2013, and the skins were released (February 1st, 2013).

Morello said that he agrees with us in that Lux needs a skin that was better fitting of her personality, and that he had wanted to get another skin expedited for us, and it's been two years since then.

For context as for how long we've been waiting, the Steel Legion skins came out about a month before Zac was released, so technically, we've been waiting longer.

Which is so funny/sad. The way he replied to all the backlash, it sounded like a Lux skin was going to released in a month or two, not TWO FREAKIN YEARS (if it comes out any time soon.)

I was kind of expecting another skin by the end of 2013, as I knew that skins took a while to make, but when that time came, Morello had said that he had pushed it off in favor of other champs who were lacking skins, which was reasonable, but still...

It's now been two years, and we're still waiting.

There was a huge backlash from the lux community 2 years ago because when Riot released Steel Legion lux community it was a huge oversight and totally ignored the fact that lux already has two military themed skins. The community was really upset because there was no variety in lux's skins. She has two magic skins and 3 military skins, so when Steel legion was introduced a lot of the community was upset because we knew there wouldn't be an opportunity for a new skin for lux for a long time.

.-. even though champs like Ahri, soraka have received 2 skins before lux has gotten another skin in the 2 years, but that's another topic lol

There was a couple of giant forums on the old boards about it from lux mains and players. If I find it I can link it for you to see, Morello made some interesting comments on it.

I feel that Lux's Legendary Skin should be some sort of psychotic/murderous/"snapped" version of the girl who uses harsh red light for her spells, has a bloodied outfit like Butcher Urgot, and has lines befitting someone who has been pushed over the edge, we're talking Veigar but far more threatening. Throw in more of them creepy, infamous Lux Laughs, and you've got a monster.

Infared Lux sounds like a badass name, but if I recall correctly, infared light is invisible to people...

All her skins are meh at best. All her older skins are outdated, and Steel Legion was neither needed nor wanted. Also, Lux doesn't have the model issues that Zac does.

You're getting downvoted for a few reasons:

This is a Lux skin thread, not a Zac skin thread.
Lux fans have been waiting for a good skin longer than Zac has even existed.
Lux doesn't have the model issues that Zac does.
Hardly anyone likes her military skins, as the theme does not fit her.
Riot admitted that they screwed up with Steel Legion Lux, and they said that there would be another skin for her, and that was two years ago.

Yeah, I agree that Zac is in need some skins. However, many people agree that Lux's best skins are the skins that she was released with, Sorceress and Spellthief. And when you have a champ that's been in the game for four years, has five skins, and her best skins are four years old as well, we have a problem.

Lux is in dire need, because she has five skins, and no variety, and because she has five skins, and this is one of the reasons why we hated Steel Legion, was because it would be forever before Lux even had another opportunity for a good skin, and it has been.

Zac, once Riot figures out what to do about his model, has plenty of time to grow his collection in terms of quantity and variety. Lux doesn't have that luxury, as Riot wasted multiple opportunities on military skins that no one likes. Lux will probably get her next skin, and then not see another one for another two or three years. Once Zac's problems are resolved, he could get one a year, and no one would have any issue with it.

Zac came out at the end of March 2013, so you guys have been waiting for about 22 months. Steel Legion Lux came out at the start of February 2013, putting us at just short of two full years. SLL was leaked onto the PBE at the start of December 2012, almost two months prior, to immediate backlash, putting us at about 25 months. Imperial Lux came out at the end of November 2011, and while I don't know how well it was initially received, It's never been that popular, and would put us back to about 37 months, or about 3 years. Top that off with how poorly Riot treated us Lux fans during the whole Finales Funkeln/Infinite Light fiasco during the summer of 2012, and it all adds up to us being royally pissed off.

All we want is "The Skin" that embodies what Lux is, the bubbly light mage that protects her team and melts your face off. After that, I don't care if she gets another skin again, Riot made a promise, and I'll be sure that they keep it.

I don't know. IronStylus just had "Space Marine" engrained in his head when he designed Steel Legion Garen, and it just transferred to Lux's skin.

I would totally buy a Marching Band Lux, as I did marching band in high school.

While they are technically pretty good skins (that's a matter of opinion, I'm not arguing for or against any of them), if you don't appreciate the mage or military themes she has, then none of her 5 skins will appeal to you. What Lux fans want is a little bit of variety, rather than the endless parade of military skins.
