How much should I save for runes?

Hey guys. Due to the suggestion of my friends and such, I've been saving my IP for runes, without buying any champs. I mainly can play supp(who cannot?), jungler and ADC well(I'm still learninig mid and top, top being hardest not to blow up). Could u guys tell me which common runes are most important and need to bought(Excluding luxury type runes for specific champs. I haven't played any ninjas/top bruisers or odd-type casters yet). Just the basic ones so that once I reach lvl 30 I may start ranked ASAP.

I've saved 14,000ish IP till date, and am anxious if I've saved enough so that I may start buying champs of various types for drafts. I just did some faint math, and noticed that a full AD rune page costs you like 10,000+ Ip in itself. Does that mean I need to have like 20,000ish IP just so that I can fill out those 2 pages before I can buy any champions? Thanks for helping me out.

Also, I've got these junglers atm: nunu, ww, shaco. ADCs atm: Graves, Ashe, Trist(who doesn't?) Tops: Ryze, Garen. mid: annie, (ryze?) Supp: morgana, alistar.

Which are the champs that shine in the modern meta?

Cya in the field.

For starters I recommend the following 2 pages:

Page 1 AD for all purposes: red: all AD yellow: mix of scaling health (4) and scaling Armor (5) blue: scaling MR (though going for some CDR is quite worth it actually once you get the hang on it) Quints: all AS

the mix of AS and AD enables you to play a really wide aray of Champs in Jungle, Top and botlane.

Page 2 AP for all purposes: red: all MagicPen yellow: all scaling health blue: all MR Quints: Flat AP

you have to be a little carefull supporting with no armor-runes, but most mage-supports donßt like to go all in by themselves anyway and you can play almost anything with those Runes midlane.

You should then proceed to try different Champs/roles till you find sth. to your liking and then start building more specific pages for the Champs/roles you play the most.

you should either pick 2 champs your gonna main and build rune pages around them 2 champs or just go with a basic ap ad rune set up until you get more pages something like 3 ap quints 9 mr per lvl glyphs 9 armor seals 9 magic pen marks and for ad 3 ad quints 9 ad marks

So... having 3 ap quints, 9 mr per lvl glyphs, 9 armor seals, 9 magic pen marks, 3 ad quints and 9 ad marks is enough for both the pages for a generic-ish rune build? How much IP does that mean?

Thanks for the help, tho.:D

I was going to say save some and don't spend it all on champs, but you seem to have that sorted out haha.

As long as one of the champs you have clicks with you and you aren't going to get bored of them anytime soon, you're in a good place.

Just buy TIER 3 runes (just making sure), one page for ap, and one for ad, and you should be set. You can customize with any extra ip you may have left over.
