Are promos suppose to be lost?

I wonder how promotions are set up. I remember being in gold 3 after demoting from my starting league in gold 2 which was because I was playing poorly and was grasping the concept of the game after a long hiatus. I began to get better by playing with my friend sometimes to climb out of the gold 3 rank. Once climbing out I started playing remarkably better by my standards climbing all the way to promos without a loss. Then I got into promos and destroyed surprisingly. Then without a loss I got into Gold two promos and then I finally managed to lose one game but completed the promo. I then went straight to Gold 1 promos to reach Platinum and I managed to lose the promos completely. I don't tend to think much about it and move one to get into promos again but lose the first match and win the next three. Finally I am in platinum where I ended up in the previous season, but now I am fired up to reach my goal of diamond. Duoing with my friend had some ups and down going what I believe was 3-2 with him but then I get to promos with him and we lose. I climb by myself once again and get to promos and win them straight out alone. As the ranks get higher there isn't much change in the methods of how my team plays which doesn't matter all that much to me but what I am beginning to realize is that the only time I lost was in promos. I move on to Platinum four promos and lose the first time around realizing that I didn't particularly see myself dying or losing lane. Instead I realize my team is losing lanes but it is just natural for some people to lose sometimes. However next game this happens and we begin to have people afk in base because their lane went poorly. Just to remind you this is in promos so I begin to get skeptical. After once again pulling through and destroying my promos I play at my worst which is at night time and lose three games surpisingly not demoting, but then I make my come back winning 4 games in a row once again and getting into promos. I win the first game in the mornjing and decide to finish them later when I have more time. First game went poorly because my top lane was 1-4 12 mins in while my mid was 0-3 and somehow they lose lane to questionable picks while my support blitzcrank didn't really provide much to the lane. It was a shock to me because every other blitzcrank going to promos played exceptionally well and seemed to understand their role in the game. Next game I get the same blitzcrank player but he decides to take my role which I could see why, since people rarely want to support. In game though I have teammates that do not want to leave lane, constantly flaming each other and the enemy team but I pay them no mind as i proceed to win my lane and get my carry remarkably fed. We were up about 28 to 14 in merely 20 minutes and no matter how many times I said we should group no one comes to help out. The team starts getting picked off the adc freezes lane instead of grouping while being 3 levels up and I am over here wishing I went ad thresh instead. In the end the midlaner had enough and went afk and then I thought... this is always and only happens in promos. So I am now left with the task to once again get back into promos and hopefully win them outright but I am left with the question of whether promos are suppose to be lost because every time I get into promos in a new division i lose the first one.
