Annie questions

Hi everybody, I just found out how powerfull can Annie Annie be in low elos, and I would like to hear some advice from you. I started playing ranked this season, I was placed in Bronze I and struggled a lot, but then I started think about improving and after three promos I finally got to the silver, so now I can laught at those bronze jokes (kappa). I played a lot of support with friend and we were really sucessfull, but when I play support at soloQ it just doesnt feel like I can carry the game. So I looked for a good mid (maybe also top ?) champ, which has a good damage and can carry, and I finally found Annie. I think she is nearly impossible to outburst in her range and she only struggles against high range mages like Xerath or Brand. She is also very underplayed here, so not many people does care to counter her. Her lvl 6 is bassically a free kill, due to how she is underestimated. Her flash tibbers is very good punishment for a carry out of position and can win teamfights easily. Her shield makes her really tanky for a mage. So the only downfall of her is the lack of range/gap closer. But I have some questions:

  1. How am I supposed to build her now after recent changes of AP itemization ? - I found two ways to build her. First is kinda clear - getting Archangel/ROA combo + Rabbadon, Void staff and Zhonya/luden. It gives her huge amount of Ap (900+ late game) and also gives her a lot of defensive stats. Downfall of this build is the time it takes to stack these items. The second build Im kinda unsure - I would buy Luden first, then Roa, Morello or maybe Rylai (?), and after that Deathcap/Void/Zhonya. But I'm not really confident how to build her optimally to carry in my elo.

  2. What to do when facing Brand, Xerath, Lux etc. ?

  3. What other champions would you recommend me ? - I like to play Corki when adc, I really enjoy playing Sona and Thresh. I used to play Irelia a lot but for me she is countered hard by champions who can beat her before she buys Triforce.

Bonus question: What Annie skin would you recommend me ? Thank you for any answer, Ardycia :)

Annie is pretty diverse when it comes to itemization, but there are a few particular builds that I favor for her. My favorite is the item 3040 item 3027 rush. You are not incorrect though, it does take time for the build to become powerful. I think it works for just about any matchup (in easy ones, you will not require high damage items to win, and in hard ones, you can farm safely and let these two items build powerfully- no kills needed to get fed). I especially like to use these items with scaling cooldown reduction glyphs, since that gives you high damage, an active shield, health, and more spammable abilities.

Another good rush is item 3136 , as it makes your mid-game stronger. I like to combine this with item 3116 , since their passives work well together. I would recommend this buildpath against tanks and if you want/need peel (Rylai's is really good since it procs off of Tibbers when you move him on top of an opponent).

Against high-ranged enemies like Xerath, you have to try to predict their skillshots and dodge them. In matchups where the lane opponent has skillshots, especially those of higher range (Xerath ), you can rush tier 2 boots (item 3158 item 3020 ) and/or item 3285 for the faster movement speed. There are also some instance in which you can time your stun. For example, if Xerath is using his ult, then you can use your stun to interrupt it, or if Lux ults (thus she is standing still), she gives you a perfect opportunity to use your classic summoner 4 -Tibbers combo.

I cannot really recommend you other champions (especially since I mostly just play Annie ). Caitlyn makes for a safe ADC, and I know tanky top laners and junglers are all the rage at the moment (Annie works for top too though).

Classic Annie is my favorite, but I really also like Goth and Sweetheart. Panda has awesome animations though.
