escaping from the clutches of a blitz pull

how does a blitz pull work, why is ezreal allowed to dash out of it, or why can trist hop out as soon as she gets pulled, could someone plz explain why they dont get pulled all the way in? many times i waste my e because i land the pull, only for ezreal to dash right out as soon as he is grabbed, or trist is allowed to knock me backwards, or hop out as soon as she is grabbed in which both cases cancels the pull entirely

Their dashes have 0.5 sec delay, if they start casting moment they see they gonna be hit, it will complete during pull. Thats how its intended. Lucian dash for example doesnt have delay. So it doesnt work on his.
