Promos + remakes

So my perfectly fine internet completely died shortly after starting a game and the resulting remake counted as a loss in my promos. Doesn't really seem fair to me since a remake doesn't even count as anything for anyone and receives a lower lp punishment when doing ranked after placement. Why the harsh punishment on this????? -a disappointed gamer

Technically it wasn't even a match so I believe you are wrong sir.

There was a match though. You were in it and so were 9 other people. Then something happened on your end and the match was ruined and had to be remade because of it

It happened because of you and you need to take responsibility for that. Your at fault so you take the punishment for 9 other people, thats how the system works. Its not a "get out of a match free" system where you can simply afk and pretend the match did not happen. Its a system designed to punish leavers and thats what you did whether it was in your power or not. It was your account that left the match so its your account being punished with an auto loss and a leaver strike. Thats all there is to it.

Look up the official riot page introducing remakes and look at the language they use. Notice I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm just asking as to why it's such a harsh punishment. The point is that things do happen and punishing every little thing upon first offense doesn't seem completely fair. It's like firing someone for hiccuping.

I do understand your point and why such a decision was made but following the same logic that was used when determining the punishment for remakes, a loss shouldn't be the punishment since in normal circumstances a remake isn't punished as a loss.
