Why has nothing been done by now?

Riot....riot, i speak for everyone when i say this. And i know i'm beating a dead horse. But come on! There's only so many AFKers a person can take in ranked games before they look for a new game. Having everyone leave the shop at the start of game shouldn't be something we only hear about in fairy tales...

So here's some crazy suggestions, that i'm sure have been discussed a bizzilion times over. -If someone AFK's/DC's let us /surrender SOONER. I'm not a kid that get's to sit at home and play this game for hours on end without a care in the world. I have a life, job, kids, wife, responsibilities, so i only get a few games a day that i can play. So letting me /surrender sooner may allow me to play anther game. -If someone AFK's/DC's cut the lose of LP in half for the people that stayed.
-The people that AFK/DC's, make them lose double LP. -If someone AFK's/DC's during someone's promo's, ban them, make them lose triple LP or something. I have lose promo's to S3 3 times. One of those times was a 2v5....get real. -If someone AFK's/DC's during a ranked game, don't let them play ranked for a day, a week, something.

Why is there little to no punishment for people that act a fool? I've givin you (Riot) hundreds of dollars, but i've seriously debated on other games. Or i've debated on paying someone to get me to at least plat, just in hopes of not having to deal with AFK's/DC's 1 out of 3, or 1 out of 5 games.

Just my $0.02

I agree I would love to see very harsh punishment for AFK or DC, but then imagine how many people would lose their mind if they have a power outage, internet issues, PC issues? Idk it's a tough situation.

I can't remember where but I believe I remember reading that Riot didn't want to lessen the blow of AFK losses for the other players in the game because they were worried about player toxicity. If you knew you'd lose half of the LP in a game you felt like you were going to lose if someone went AFK, the team might be inclined to single out someone and harass them until they feel they should leave. And in a game where (technically speaking) there is always someone who does worse than the rest of the team it would be easy for one person to start talking down the other player. Then the rest of the team chimes in.

While it's never okay to go AFK (especially when the mute button exists), it's still not an entirely fair situation. The broader point I'm trying to make, however, is that Riot has likely thought of those solutions or similar ones and they've either scrapped them due to similar issues or are perhaps still ironing out the details to make them fair. AFK's and DC's aren't fun, but Riot is also trying to make sure that other aspects of the game and community aren't affected at the same time. It's sort of an impossible situation, in my opinion.

I completely agree with this. I've run into multiple people on multiple occasions throughout Solo Q that are known to AFK. And guess what? They AFK'd within the start of the match. I've had 2 AFker's in one game before. I fell from S1 in my promos to G5 because of Trolls that wanna sit in base and type arguments, or AFK/DC purposely. -- Hell, maybe it's just my bad luck. But I play at least 10 Solo Q games a day, and majority of them have been loses due to this reason solely. Sure I have legit losses as well, not gonna lie there.

But anyways, reporting obviously has no affect to these people because they do it anyways, fully knowing people are gonna get mad and report them. Why should we all have to suffer and lose LP because of them? WE ALL KNOW Solo Q system is FAAAR from perfect, but I'd figure getting some duct tape fixes AT LEAST to hold us over until a better system is put in place.

As for legit DCers. I understand if it's a random DC, or if the servers screw up. It's a bit of a double edged sword, naturally. But I still feel the pros outweigh the cons by FAR.

Well someone afking during your promo isn't really something they can control at times. Meaning they would probably expect the normal punishment then get this huge one that they didn't have a choice over. And now we back to people duoing on their smurfs. If they're losing, smurf friend goes afk, doesn't care about loss of lp and the person trying to climb gets off scott free.
