League Addiction

Guess I should start at the beginning...

So about 3-4 years ago now, I started playing league, a friend showed it to me during a party and I was hooked immediately. (I played syndra; quite bad to be honest). And I couldn't stop thinking about it, but I had no way to play it. Then I went to my grandmothers house for the summer, and all I did for 3 months was play and play until I got ranked. After I got to ranked it only made me more desperate to play. I fell into a sort of league addiction. During school I would think about league all day; what I could do to improve, what I did wrong the day before, favorite matchups etc. Then I would get home and play, foregoing all homework or other responsibilities. This cycle would happen every day for another year, until one day a friend of mine said just don't go to school.

So I stopped going to school almost altogether; I would stay up till about 6-8A.M. playing league and then would go to sleep, waking up around 3P.M. and starting all over again. Because of this I didn't graduate on time and got kicked out of the house, but this didn't stop my addiction. Long story short I was heavily addicted to League for about 3 years. Then I was able to get my diploma and curbed the addiction, able to play but able to put my responsibilities first and get my sh*t together. I'm now at Job corps and learning to become a plumber, but im going to go to college to become a Water Treatment Specialist.

But the story doesn't end there, about two months ago I messed up my right knee while playing basketball, and I have just found out I bruised my patella and strained my ACL and PCL. This requires me to separate from the program for 6-12 weeks on Medical separation. Meaning that I cant do any heavy lifting, I have to avoid stooping, and stairs. Physical Therapy twice a week and a lot of sitting on my ass. This means I will have too much free time on my hands; and I'm going to be playing league.

Hoping that I don't become addicted again over the 4 months i'll be on MedSep; take care and make sure you don't let this super fun game take over your life. My question is; is this game that we all enjoy too fun? Can this game be too addicting?

Feel free to share any stories you have. Much love.
