@Riot Retcons, balance, and how Riot is alienating a 4 year player

You know, Riot, I started playing a LONG time ago. Back when Xin Zhao was brand new. And, honestly, one of the things that got me interested in the game was the lore for the various champions and regions, as well as the JoJ. I was emotionally invested in that.

You ruined it.

I used to have an overall positive view on Riot balance. I didn't necessarily agree with everything that was being done, but at least it seemed to be making the game more interesting. But, since 4.10, ranged right clickers have been the dominant force in the game with no intention of changing this based on the fact that 4.14 is the patch for worlds. Right clicking from range and running teams around keeping those right clickers safe isn't dynamic or fun. It is boring to play and boring to watch.

You ruined it.

I used to be one of the biggest overall supporters of Riot. I would stand up for you guys and say that, even if what you were doing seemed a bit out there; you MUST have a good reason for it. But, you know what...

YOU RUINED IT.

Now, honestly, I don't trust your lore department not to completely change the champions that I love into totally different people. I don't trust you to make balance decisions that favor overall game balance, especially when you make the decisions that make the game as much about RANGE, RANGE, RANGE as possible to the exclusion of anything melee whatsoever.

Simply put, I don't trust your decision making.

Yes, I am angry. Yes, I think I could do a better job with the lore. It wouldn't be hard. Retcons are the worst thing a person can do to literally ANY lore. No, I don't know that I would be better at balancing the game, but I sure as hell know that if I was trained to balance a game I would be able to very quickly figure out that making the most powerful role in the game someone that can quite literally avoiding using abilities AND ONLY RIGHT CLICK in their ideal situation is a boring game.

And, honestly, the worst part about this is I love this game. I've not had any other game that has kept me coming back week after week (to both watch pros play and to play myself) like LoL has at any point in my entire life. I want to support you, Riot. I really do. I want to have faith that the game will be better than it is now in four years. But how am I supposed to support you when you have managed to take nearly four years of trust and throw it away? I'm not gonna stop playing this game, I like it too much. But you've taken my heart out of it, and that might just be even worse.

TL;DR: Riot has screwed the pooch on lore and balance, and managed to alienate a person who has been playing since Xin Zhao was released. I want to support Riot and trust their decision making, but too much of it has been suspect and that is literally disheartening to me.
