It doesn't make me happy. To be honest I don't really feel anything. I don't pity them, for we have had it worse for years, but because we know what it's like to have a disadvantage we shouldn't get enjoyment from them. While 70 ping (the supposed max for the West Coast) sounds amazing to me right now, I can see why it sounds terrible to someone used to a much lower number.
I've been playing on a connection that ranges from 90 on a good day to 200 on a bad. Random spikes of over 600 are not uncommon. Once had a game where I hit 12,000. That was weird... Having everyone's ping be standardized will be a good change for the community. It will require shifts in play from both East-Coasters getting used to the much lower ping and having a faster response time, and also West-Coasters getting used to a slightly higher ping and learning to factor in a minor delay. This may even allow the East-Coast to field a few Pros of its own. Up until now, most seem to be based on the West Coast. The first few days will be strange for all of NA, but we will adapt. We will evolve to this new standard, and overall we will become stronger.
