Team Builder?

So today since the new champion came out i figured i'd go have some fun in a normal game and try him out. I figured out that this is an impossibility. With the new champ select it is near impossible to play Sol because 1. He is the new champ and will prob get banned and 2. He is the new champ so unless i'm first pick its going to get picked before me. So i thought i'd go play the regular old blind pick. That doesn't work either. For any player with semi-high ping it's impossible to get the new champ because it gets auto locked by someone with decent ping. Every game. And with leagues community no one is just going to just give it to you. So your options for actually getting a chance to play the new champion are slim to none. This is extremely dissatisfying. One of the main reasons i play league is for the patches or the new champs because they bring in change. But now i don't get the chance to experience this because my ping is slightly above average so i load into champion select a little slower than everyone else. With team builder this was never an issue. Yeah there were some long queue times but they are just about as long as the new champ select. I never saw the reason of taking out something that didn't need to be taken out. It could have just replaced the old blind pick.
