A Small Cry For Help

TL;DR I get too emotional over seeing my favorite champion(s) die/do poorly and am unsure if there's anything I can really do to fix this issue.

So, I'm not exactly sure where I would be posting this, and I'm sure that this will probably just draw ridicule, but I've come to expect that. Also please excuse me if I turn this into a wall of text.

Either way, to the point: I absolutely love this game, and I don't really see many signs at all of me stopping playing anytime soon. I started playing League in November of 2015, and immediately jumped onto a champion I recognized from fanart I'd seen around: Sona.

She immediately became my favorite, and I still am a loyal main, far and above anything else I play.

However, growing to like Sona so much has caused me to get a bit emotionally upset when I see her die. And it would seem that each new champion or rework gives me new things to be, well, concerned about, I guess: Warwick, Xayah, Kayn, and now Urgot and that new ult of his.

Don't get me wrong, I'm hyped over the the new stuff Riot is releasing, and as an Urgot player I'm hyped to try out his new rework, and I think the thematics on him and his ult are amazing, but watching his special interactions video, and seeing he has a line for ulting Sona, well, I suppose it's gotten me a little emotionally frazzled.

It's actually gotten to the point honestly that I'm too hard on myself for dying when I play Sona, and if I'm not playing Sona, I ban her, because having to fight against a Sona makes me play worse just on principle.

So, basically, I just dunno what I can really do about this. I guess I'm also wondering to know if anybody else has any issues similar to this, whether with League, or any other game really.

Anyway, thanks if you took the time to read all of this, I just really feel like I don't really know what to do.

Honestly you should probably just take a break from League if it's affecting you on such an emotional capacity

A little bit less extreme, but I feel the same whenever one of my favorites dies, or if I have to fight them. It feels really sad watching the death animation of one of your loved champions. You aren't alone though!
