Why haven't promotion series been removed yet?

Seriously, outside of the highest elo, promotion series are just a aggravating, masochistic torture test. There was a point to them when you couldn't fall out of a tier, but now I just don't see the point in it. I miss the season 2 elo latter. There my progression wasn't dependent on a best of 5 series which does nothing more to prove my skill level than if you gave me a needle full of adrenaline. Seeing as I don't play in competitive tournaments and mostly play for fun, the dangling of a carrot of end of season rewards seems cruel when I've continually hit my promotion series only to have 3 of the games go south. I've even started out series 2-0, only to lose 3 in a row like Curse. I know that the thinking behind it is " well if you can't win your promos you are in the right league..." But if losing knocks you down a tier anyways, what is the point of promos?

Promos could still be in the game because it'd be so easy to climb without them. There would be a lot less people in bronze and everyone would climb like 2 leagues at an incredible rate. They're probably there to keep people that win games out of pure luck from climbing.

Promotion series and LP are nothing but a excuse to put barriers (Promos) between your climb to high levels (Bronze < SIlver < Gold etc)

Think as it as one big letter and LPs dedicates your position, and promos are nothing but a gamble.

Edit - True promotion should be based on overall performance (KDR is mainly luck) or the MMR, but I don't know about it much.

Edit 2 - Promos are based on that, in your current zone, you're good enough to get a majority win in 3/5 amount of games. But winning doesn't say anything about YOUR skill level, which is the point of Ranked. Games are a TEAM effort, one dc or feeder, no matter how good YOU are, you will lose.

I'm not playing anymore, so I don't really care one way or another....

but watching the way people react to series is a rather fun psychological experiment... the way people scapegoat and blame is very interesting.

Just stop taking them so seriously and continually focus on becoming a better player and accepting your mistakes and eventually you'll rise in rank.
