The "Yordle Snap Trap" appears to be a bear trap with a cupcake as bait. So why is it a "yordle" snap trap? Do yordles have a chemical dependence on cupcake frosting? Is there a major yordle-based crime ring in Piltover? Is the enigmatic "C" a yordle?
Why does Caitlyn have a nominally anti-yordle device when her background doesn't mention yordles at all?

I think it's because Yordle's are more likely to be baited in by cupcakes just like all champions are likely to be baited in by Teemos.
Could also be that Heim developed the trap, you know, because of Piltover. So it's a yordle-made snap trap.
You place the traps to catch Teemo before he shrooms all of Piltover, thus is her job as sheriff.
FYI I max it if the other team has a Teemo and wait until he goes invisible to place it underneath him. My hatred for him runs deep.
Teemo is a yordle. Teemo is a bastard. She must think all yordles are like Teemo.
Maybe at one time Riot wanted her to be an acclaimed Yordle hunter, rather than the Sheriff of Piltover. Heck, she's got her 90 caliber net too. Perfect for snagging those dastardly yordles on the run.
