I play ranked casually when I say this I mean I play champ that I am not 100% with yet but I feel that in order to attain a comfortable form of play with one champ that I need to play in a competitive environment where people are actually trying in groups.
MrBuffington2 votesI first play champs in ranked a lot, once I get moderately comfortable with their mechanics in a bot game. Normals really don't help me cause it's nothing compared to ranked most of the time.

Playing first time champion with which you are not familiar does damage games of others. Well I did the same a few times, when I was forced to lane I almost never played.
I will not say "don't do that" but please think more about othres and be more responsible, please.
MrBuffington2 votesI generally know the champion pretty well going into the game, I'm just saying I'm not the type to play a hundred normals before bringing a champion into ranked. I also play easier champs in general; I haven't brought the new Nidalee into ranked, for example, because I don't have experience playing her top, even though I used to main her in mid lane. Same goes for Gragas. I can get comfortable mechanically on most champions from just bot games, and I don't play draft normals cause I feel like I might as well be playing ranked. I'm not that guy that brings in poppy support for the first time because I saw it on stream, lol

I do not think that you need hundred games in normals to play in ranked.
Though mid lane and top are quite demanding in experience of certain champions.
MrBuffington2 votesTrue, ADC for example can be pretty easy to translate skill sets from champion to champion. I don't play assassins in mid because they typically take a lot of experience to learn them. There are some core fundamentals that can be translated between certain champs, like hitting skill shots, but a lot of champions are just too unique to be able to play at ranked level from just a game or two. I also feel like I learn faster through ranked play, but I am aware that I'm not as experienced when I first bring a champ into ranked, even if I've played them a few times before, so I'll play a bit more cautiously at first.
MugyvrNinja1 votesI don't first play a champ in ranked of the bat I go to do a bots match 1v5 first to best understand its capability then if I am comfortable then I will take the champ into a ranked game match adjusting and adapting to given situations.
