Casual ranked play

I play ranked casually when I say this I mean I play champ that I am not 100% with yet but I feel that in order to attain a comfortable form of play with one champ that I need to play in a competitive environment where people are actually trying in groups.

I first play champs in ranked a lot, once I get moderately comfortable with their mechanics in a bot game. Normals really don't help me cause it's nothing compared to ranked most of the time.
