Banning Lyte

Lyte's recent comments making "muted" and "continue [x] and report" comments a reportable offense are toxic. This is equivalent to having your neighbor steal from you, warning that if he continues you will call the cops, and the cops arresting you. Not only that but Lyte continues to not update the Code with these spur of the moment rules even though he has time to work through the EULA with the lawyers to protect himself. We wouldn't accept such lazy rule making in baseball. We shouldn't accept it here.

Worse, by doing this Lyte is acting unethically. He is using statistics to show how he has improved the community. But as a psychologist he should know that punishing reporting behavior would act to reduce overall reports. That is, he is introducing negative behavior that uses his professional knowledge in a negative manner to increase his own perceived value.

This behavior has to stop. A judge has to be held to a higher standard of ethical conduct. A judge with a background in a professional field where he is abusing his knowledge in that profession has to be held to an even higher standard. Ban Lyte.

May I make a counter-analogy? If I get a call from a stranger 600 miles away in the middle of the night, and he says "CALL THE COPS ON MY NEIGHBOR, HE STOLE FROM ME," that's more like the situation you're describing.

It's unnecessary—because you can already call the cops yourself, completely solving the problem without my help. It's annoying—because I really have no interest in something that doesn't involve me. And it's ineffective—because I don't have anything useful to tell the cops.

The rule against report begging is primarily for the benefit of the 8 other people in the game. They're never going to see you or this other player again, and no one particularly cares if you have a problem with them and want them to get banned. You go right ahead and report them. One report counts just as much as nine reports. But unless I'm also seeing that behavior and I also believe that it's bannable, nothing good can come from you telling me about it. As soon as you start complaining about their actions to me, you become part of the problem. And of course it's even worse if you are accusing someone who is not actually breaking any rules, because now you're also harming them in addition to bothering the 8 other players.

I typed up a passionate, truthful, and in my opinion well thought out comment in one of lyte's threads, and it suddenly disappeared without warning ( I don't know what to look out for when a comment is removed)

I find his statistics to be decomposed, broken down and loose... Generally speaking. Hee-hee-ha-ha.

lyte: The system fires a reform card through email, sharing the chat log of the offending player (we scrub other players’ names and chat logs) and the punishment for the behavior

people are forgetting somehting important worst of the people is shit.. cough cough lyte.

games are 40 mins long and you've taken the ability to dodge and taken the ability to afk away.

that means not only are we guarenteed a loss but even with the chat muted 40 mins of ingame play based harassment is guaranteed

you no longer have the ability to play league less you are some how recording your games
