Why do you get leaver busted

when you have trouble connecting to a game. I didn't connect till 14min but i still stayed and played it out with my team we lost at like 40 minutes. Its only like a 4min suspension but still come on really. It's annoying

Edit for clarity so I have had it explained to me why there's a punishment attached to it and Im ok with that. What I don't get is why did I lose the three extra lp I thought that was just for dodging games. Also I am just assuming that's where the -3 lp came from because I dont dodge often and can honestly say I haven't dodged in months.

As to leaver buster hitting the first offense I was actually just referring to the lil 5min ban that you normally get for dodging not an actual suspension or anything.

Leave Buster is working properly when it penalizes you for this.

The other 9 people shouldn't have their experience ruined because your machine/internet can't handle the game. You need to fix your problem if you want to play with others. Until then, stick to bot games.

Not trying to be rude, just providing an explanation; try to think about it from the other gamer's perspective. Queuing up like you are ready to play, then not joining the game, is extremely frustrating to everyone else.

First of all, I have never seen leavebuster hit anyone for one offense.

Secondly, your aren't paying attention to my point. The other nine people aren't any less inconvenienced if it was intentional or not. I understand it was accidental. The point is, it ruins other people's experiences. If the end result is that everyone with an unruly cat gets banned, then the system did its job.

if you dodge you always get 5 minutes off it was wierd tho because i played the game and still lost that 3lp from dodge and got that time penalty.

I'm pretty sure you lose the LP if you miss or decline a ranked queue pop, did that happen?

Like the other guy said. Accident or not, your connection and PC are your responsibility. If you are having connection problems frequently enough to get leaverbuster penalties then you need to be fixing that before you queue again.

I got the dodge penalty and the time delay I was referring to as leaver buster. I didn't dodge tho I just got disconnected in load due to my modem losing power. So I dont know why I got the dodge penalty.

If you disconnect during the draft it counts as a "dodge" and the game doesn't start. This will give you an immediate dodge penalty; you'll lose some amount of LP and then have to wait some number of minutes before queueing up again for any game type. But there is no further penalty beyond that (except that multiple dodges within 24 hours have increasing penalties).

If you disconnect once the loading screen has started and don't reconnect within a few minutes, it will count as a Leaver Buster "strike" against your account. Too many of these will give you "low priotity queue" after the match, where you will have to wait X minutes before queueing for some number of matches (think it starts at 5 minutes for 5 matches). If you don't play enough "clean" matches before getting another "strike", the penalties will go up.

I got the paragraph 1 punishment for the paragraph 2 crime. There's my confusion. I don't really express myself very well I guess. However now that this is cleared up any ideas.

Never heard that one before! You can open a ticket with Support here: https://support.riotgames.com/hc/requests/new to ask about what happened. Maybe they can tell you more.
