Direct from @RiotLyte: Players can now be effectively "permanently chat banned" when they receive 500+ chat bans in #leagueoflegends | http://bit.ly/V5gGrf

Is being really negative and toxic to the community worth it? Especially after this new announcement, definitely not!

It honestly won't change a thing though. All it will change is modify the behavior of those that have already had their chat limited for an extensive period of time. Before, either you would get radom increases everytime you completed your maches, or they would ban people who are simply chatting negatively.

What this do is that those who are truly toxic will get a permanent chat limitation (so no more teasing of !only 10 more games... NOPE")l, and no more bans on people whose only problem is that they can't communicate properly. Those that would sometimes g oon tilt or simply bm someone for worling against their team doesn't get affected in the slightest by this change.

500 chat restrictions seems like a really high number, right? Essentially, you need to be banned 500 -- with a 5 and two 0's -- times in order to get permanently banned?

Just wondering, is it flaming to type "OOOOOOOH" in /all chat after doing something amazing? Escaping a 5-man gank, getting a blind snipe from across the map, etc.
