Rank and Mastery of Opposing Team during loading screen?

At one point, you could see the borders for Rank of the opponents while the game loaded. Nowadays you can only see your team's borders.

Why was this changed? And, with Mastery levels 6 and 7 on the way, will we be able to the corresponding opponents achievements (Rank, and Mastery Level)?
