Huh, that's so odd how you hardly have been disappointed in a gold player, Iv'e had countless matches where this person acted like a straight up douche, was toxic and wasn't himself any better than any lower ranks, he blamed his team every chance he could whenever he made a dumb decision, and got 4 reports at the end of the match.
There is this "ranked mentality" that really doesn't make any sense at all, ranked, is a flawed system based off of wins, wins that you yourself don't necessarily have to even earn, you can be carried by extremely good teammates who started a smurph and are seeing how fast they can climb the ladder. Iv'e seen it countless times where someone who was a gold was just either no good, or toxic, and you could tell they got lucky in their promos and got amazing team mates that carried their ass into gold.
I tried ranked once, and got into silver 2, and in my promos 3 of the matches had a legitimate feeder who would go lane to lane giving free kills because he felt the team didn't give them a good enough leash or a top lane who fed because he didn't get to start wolves for a quick level 2 when the jungle took them because they are rightfully the jungles. I would have gone straight into gold if it weren't for these feeders ruining multiple matches, but instead i got stuck in silver and now i refuse to even really give it another shot after that experience, to even attempt to get into gold.
When there are flaws like this in a system that relies on wins, it's very hard to judge someone by their rank unless they are higher than gold, meaning platinum, diamond, and challenger which you can assume they will be great players and know their stuff, but i at this point don't expect much of gold players anymore especially after the amounts of arams and normals i have done where they played absolutely like brand new noobies, or they just made an ass of themselves. You really can never tell how good someone is by their rank until maybe gold 1, and up, because you don't know the kind of team mates they had to play with and how the match went.
