Making the Honor System Effective

I think it would be very effective if summoners could track their path to a ribbon and see how they can improve. Also, if other factors such as gifting and assists could be implemented or have increased significance. Working towards an achievable goal that you can see would really help improve the behavior of the League of Legends Community.

When the honor system just started, many summoners easily achieved their ribbons for about 50 honor points. Now, honor is rarely noticed because a goal with a vast community such as that of League, is somewhat uninteresting and only motivates for a short time.

I suggest that a greater portion of the honor system's inner workings be revealed son the public can understand each factor along with possibly introducing a tracking system to help summoners achieve their goals and have greater motivation.

Riot, thank you for your time and effort in creating a player based game and meeting the needs of the community.League of Legends is an amazing game that has the ability to expand and grow through trial and error. I am also excited to see if you guys at Riot Games release another awesome game.

Thanks Again, Zorthian

Or, what if instead of a binary ribbon there was something slightly more fluid that reflected the amount of honor you have. This way people who are honored will get immediate visibility, and that visibility get stronger the more they act as a positive influence.

Basically, in game we have plenty of granularity in our "rank" -- why shouldn't the same be true for honor?

hmmm... unsure. I think this could be a good incentive for some people, but for others I think I might turn into trying to game the system.

"Hey guys, honor please. I only need x more honor for a ribbon."

Attitudes like that are one of the reasons I don't honor people when they ask for it, even if they did well in-game.

I like this idea I sure hope it goes through.

I agree, I really like this idea too. It is hard to get honors nowadays.

I get honored nearly every game for something, but since they made ribbons harder to get I have never had one. Honor is boring when you never get ribbons :(

I like the tracking idea, on my smurf I got the yellow ribbon but on my main I haven't got one and I never know how far away I am from getting one.

I agree completely!

I honestly forgot Ribbons were a thing, been so long since I've even seen one.

I had my green ribbon and it dissapeared, I am friendly and such, probably a poor report? :(

I think that after say getting 100 honors you get a ribbon and 1350 RP or something like that.

Do you think there should be some kind of banner someone would get for getting reported frequently, and successfully punished in the Tribunal? So in the loading screen and on their profile it will be recognized that the person is toxic and/or bm. But that banner can can be removed if that person's honors get to a certain mark, or something like that.

I think that some kind of "public humiliation" such as a banner that shows you've been reported and had a warning or time ban from the Tribunal could keep some toxic and bm players holding their tongue. And only trolls would really try to "earn" that kind of banner. Maybe even in the profile page where you can see yours and other's honors, could also have a number of times that person has been reported or has had a warning or ban?

Just an idea, thought of it while thinking about what was said about the banners and the honor system.

Thanks for all the comments guys! Positive or negative they are a great reason to show how much the League Community cares. Keep on commenting and liking so we can get this to Riot!

Great idea! But the machinates needed to implement such tracking would take alot of work, plus, it will further complicate the game and may steer players from the true eccentric parts of the game.

The thing is, many people are in the game that are just so toxic that you just get reported for doing whatever, making you lose ribbons, or not even be able to get it in the first place ._.
