why is offensive language still in the reports list?

Im guessing its only for people who use derogatory words like the N word and stuff like that right? because im pretty positive you cant be banned for saying cuss words since riots cast does all the time on their broadcasts so that would be a lil contradicting dont ya think.

Thought of this though since I was playing normals and a gold player was talking shit so I basically said im glad im not gold and he reported me for offensive language of all things lmfao. Gotta love salty reports though mi right?

It's on there specifically for any derogatory statements, racial and otherwise. People on the internet are clever, and they can get around word filters fairly easily if they really want to, so this report option has been left in so players can use their own decision making to mark potential offenders.

makes sense I guess but if people are using those words im guess every single time they are doing it in an attacking manner otherwise why would the player report anyways unless he just wants to be an asshole? In that case you can just use verbal abuse. That's why I dont think its that viable. Even if you are just throwing around the N word and not the slang version thats technically at someone since its at a race of people so I feel like that also can go under verbal abuse.

To put it simply verbal abuse is when language is used to attack another person. Offensive language, however, is when language is not focused at a player, but is still questionable or worse in nature.

Complaining about pathing problems is fine, but calling pathing an aborted shit stain of a program or other similarly poorly chosen words is not.

Verbal abuse = People saying shitty things to each other.

Offensive language = People saying shit that offends someone else even if it wasn't directed at them. (Racial or religious slurs, for example.)

I wouldn't get banned for using the terms I did in this fashion, but if I were directing either statement at you, it could get me at least flagged.
