Why does Riot refuse to remove Duo-Queue from Ranked?

i actually prefer doing duo queue in ranked.

it reduces the risk of running into an afk/flamer/toxic player.

edit: why don't you like duo queue?

They are usually uncommunicative, negative, and perform very poorly.

It also allows for people to get carried to Leagues where they do not belong.

you're experiences do not match mine. and players that end up where they don't belong ultimately will fall back down to their proper ranking once they start playing alone.

i run into more flamers/toxic players/leavers playing solo queue than duo. (though to be honest, it's probably about the same, but at least in duo queue is still have a chance because my friend (who's actually in a lower bracket than i am) isn't a liability. no this is a team game. i'm okay with doing a solo queue separate from a duo/triple queue. but i don't think it will solve your problems

People get carried to Plat V or Diamond V for the border. They cannot "fall back down to their proper rating" because, as of yet, you are unable to go down a league. Only divisions.

My experiences are the same as most everyone else.'s. No one likes duo-queues. If they want to play together they can go play normals.

hmmm well it seems to me that this is a poor reason to spoil the play of others who do enjoy duo queues. but it is a problem.

perhaps it would be simpler to have players be forced to do their qualification matches for going up into the next tier solo. or to have a certain gap of mmr/elo wtvr not be allowed to play together in ranked.

and how do you know it's most everyone else's experience. i sincerely doubt you surveyed the several million players. so without statistics there isn't a lot to stand on.

Good question. It does more harm than anything. The only thing the community would lose is getting to watch streams of high ranking players duoing together.

I came up with a simple solution to this issue, create a true soloqueue, convert the existing queue in to a duo/triple queue, groups of 3 can now enjoy ranked together which will reduce the impact of removing solo players from the queue while letting us enjoy a game without seeing the dreaded "Me and x premade we bot" issue in champ select due to premades not respecting pick order :)

Duo-queuing helps avoid toxic teammates, and makes the game for enjoyable to play. Whenever I play solo queue I tend to have worse experiences in the form of teammates and fun.

Duo queues used properly do not harm the game. But there are far too many Platinum players queueing with bronze and silvers just so they can play lower rated people. This abuse needs to stop.

As far as I'm concerned you should not be allowed to duo with people not in the same teir as you, or at least within 3 divisions. (so Gold V and silver II can queue - Plat I and Bronze V cannot).
