It's suddenly occurred to me how outdated Pantheon's kit/mechanics is...

It isn't outdated. How is he outdated? By new champions, like Zed and Yasuo?

It occurs to me that the only thing that this new breed of lol players think viable are

1. dashes
2. burst

Any champion that doesn't let you dash into someones face and destroy him is simply outdated and must be updated to compete with new champs.

I think champions like Pantheons, who deal moderate damage in stages, can deal more damage to champs like Zed and Yasuo than they can deal to him in the space of, say, 10 seconds because his cooldowns are shorter so he can repeat his combo faster. Zed and Yas deal more damage but I think have on average higher cd OR lack range, so they can deal more damage in about 5 seconds. Zed, for example, has higher cd than Panth while Yasuo lacks Zed and Panths range. This means that champs like Pantheon outdamages Zed and Yasuo if they combo then retreat then combo again whiel retreating after they combo them, then they should be near enough to safety to end the trade. If a champion like Pantheon finds Zed or Yasuo somewhere where they cant escape to safety fast they shouldn't touch them, however, because they cant outduel them only outtrade them, and they will lose in the long run (over 10 seconds). Unless you can escape like Pantheon with his ultimate.

So Panth has about equal or maybe slightly weaker combat ability than them and equal or better utility. How is he outdated?
