Athene's Unholy Grail Recipe Change: Chalice + Fiendish Codex + 300 Gold = 2100 Total Gold Total Cost: 2100 Ability Power:40 Mana Regeneration: 75% Magic Resistance: 25 Cooldown Reduction: 20% New Passive: Gain 15% of premitigation damage dealt to champions as Blood charges, up to 100 to 270 (based on level). It doesn't give enough AP to be a good item for Sona. If you build Athene's you're basically a discount Soraka, in which case it's probably better to play Soraka.

The items in the list that will be strong on Sona are the new Tear, which stacks insanely well with mana regen from FQC or EotW and Revolver, which is basically just a Sheen on top of your Sheen.

Athene's as it is on that list is in a weird place, because the passive seems fitting for Sona and Karma but the stats aren't good enough for them while the stats are good enough for Raka and Janna but the passive doesn't quite fit.

I don't think it will be a bad item on Sona, I just think it will be hard to justify Athene's when you can just build Sheen and Revolver for the same price.
