Okay this is getting stupid. CAN I GET A RED TO REPLY?

bucky1andonly·3/11/2015, 2:57:25 PM·7 votes·2,690 views

I was permanently banned almost 2 weeks ago now. It was my first ban. I have 2.342 hours played in this game. That is over the course of 3+ years.

Check your time here - https://wastedonlol.com

So I don't get an email about my ban. Trying to log on is when I found out about my ban. I check my email every day as the first thing I do when I get on my computer. So no email which means I have to send in a ticket to get information about my ban. I get what seems to be a copy/paste response from Boogie that tells me to make a post on the forums about my ban because Rioters like Lyte often respond to those threads. Well, the forums are no longer in service. I don't even know if Lyte even exists any more. I reply to my ticket and get a response again telling me a player behavior specialist will be contacting me. That was on Feb 28th.

I made my first post here on the BOARDS (because forums are not in service even though I was told to make a thread there), not only did I not get a response from any red, but my post was removed. It was removed and instead of moving it to the proper location, which apparently is the miscellaneous section. So I'm not told where to make my post inquiring about more information on my ban, I get no reply on my first post about it, they don't move my post to the proper location, and that lack of email when I was initially banned. Here I thought my first post was just not getting bumped like I was trying to do, so that it wasn't over looked, but nope, it was removed, but before I realized I had a notification, I made another post linking to my first post, which was also removed.

So here I am again, making another attempt at getting a reply from a red about getting further information about my ban. Why have I not been contacted by this fabled player behavior specialist? I've already made a ticket, I'm supposed to be contacted by someone. I was told to ask about my ban on the forums (boards in reality). So far I have received no information. Can I get a response or will this post be removed as well?

Don't tell me I'm a toxic player either. 2342 hours played and this is my first and only ban and it is a permanent one. Must be due to this faulty system that was implemented where you can be reported for everything and anything. I was even reported by an enemy for negative attitude one game, and I can only attribute that to me playing Heimerdinger mid which can be annoying, plus my build being a bit odd (banner + zz portal, which makes me a pushing machine because of those 2 plus my big turret and 3 small turrets). I don't recall saying anything in ALL chat that game either, but I did get that pop up telling me I was reported for negative attitude. My team wouldn't have reported me either, we all got along. Being reported, and receiving the pop up means you will most likely be punished in the near future if you are reported further.

I don't say racist things in game, and I don't make threats, and I don't say vulgar or sexual things. When someone verbally attacks me in game, whether it be for having a bad game or they don't like my build, I retaliate after a while. Then that same person that attacks me ends up reporting me. But this is okay though right. The same people that verbally abuse/attack you in game are the same people that are allowed to report you, and these same people are allowed on the tribunal to dictate who gets punished. Now it wasn't the tribunal that banned me, apparently my account was audited (tribunal has been down for a while I guess to begin with). Now if we take all the hours I've played this game, and the number of times I have been legitimately reported, I'm pretty sure a permanent ban is the wrong punishment. I've been reading the boards quite a lot lately, and I see people getting timed bans and ranked bans for similar and worse things. My first ban in 2300 hours warrants a permanent ban though.

Taking bets on how long it will take to get a legitimate response from a red. Providing my account is unbanned, I will gift a random skin to the winner. Winner is decided by guessing the exact number of days. If there are more than 1 person with the same guess, I will do a random drawing. Then the 2 week waiting period for being friends, then I will gift it.

Haven't seen a nice Lyte summoner 11 in a long time!

popcorn anyone?

If you've received a ban - particularly a perma-ban - you should still have received some form of email about it. If you haven't, double-check which address is associated with your account, and check your spam/junk folder.

It might also help to know what, exactly, the error message that comes up when you try to log in is.

TeemoJenkins3/11/2015, 4:25:14 PM2 votes

I looked at your match history op and I'm honestly amazed at what I saw - over 95% of your teams let you go mid. That's honestly amazing - how have you been so lucky as to be able to go mid 95% of your matches?

I could speculate on: Mid or feed, or threatening team mates that you'll troll if you don't get mid... or based on your build... you might've been trolling anyway and your teams all reported you.

Let's be honest: You claim to have received ZERO warnings prior to being permanently banned? That's surprising, you would be the first. Unless you were using an exploit or hack.

You know what's fun? Well I know waiting for a response on an open ticket is not fun. Ticket is 15 days old now. The last reply I received was on the 28th.

Bucky you say you have never been 'banned' before, but I am confused at something else you said..Have you been punished before now ? Chat restricts or Ranked restricted ?

bucky1andonly3/14/2015, 4:12:02 PM1 votes

I don't count the chat restrictions. The system is flawed. There have been a number of games where I know I did nothing wrong and was still reported (got the pop up after game). Like I said though, it's not like I've never raged, and there are legitimate reports too. Before this chat restriction was put into place, no, I was never punished. Not once. I never received a rank restriction either. My account has never been suspended. I've never had a timed ban.

I gave a real example of something that had happened to me. I was playing Heimerdinger, most of the last 50 games have been with him mid too :D, and I didn't say anything to the enemy team, my team got along with each other just fine, and we also won. In the after game lobby, the other mid said they were reporting me for negative behavior, which makes no sense because I never talked to the enemy, and then magically I got a popup for negative behavior. Legitimate report? Nope. Getting the popup as a warning though means you're close to being chat restricted. It's like the yellow light telling you to slow down. So that player must not report a whole lot for it to count against me that much. I can only contribute this report to me playing as Heimerdinger mid against them and Heimer being extremely annoying.

nerak233/15/2015, 1:32:39 AM1 votes

I don't count the chat restrictions. The system is flawed.

That isn't what I asked you ;) I asked if you got any chat rest. ? That would be considered a warning to you. Weather or not You consider it a Warning . Just because you say You don't count it as one doesn't mean Riot doesn't count it as a Warning...Lets get it straight It Is a Big Warning to anyone getting it, sorry but that is just how it is.

Hey I get being upset when someone is rude to you 1st ! But, if you respond in the same fashion then your going to eventually get caught and punished. As for a Perma-ban yep it's harsh...Do you really Not know why you got it ? Just a question not an accusation about you. If you really feel like you shouldn't have gotten it then maybe it was a ban for another reason as Jubbinaut was trying to help you figure out.

If you want me to bump for a Lyte smite I'd be happy to keep replying, BTW as I write this comment to you I have made no judgement about you or your situation..Still, I'd like to know what happens...what ever way you take this post Good Luck to you.

You got to keep the thread going bud, even though we disagree I was serious about keeping this thread alive with you. But, w/e you need to keep it up to get attention and honestly I haven't seen any done in a long time..

Any one seen a Lyte smite on here lately ??

EDIT: Bucky it's not about seeing a "Lyte Smite". What I should clarify is I'd actually like to see one reversed it's just the only one I did see got in trouble for the same thing again.

So, while we disagree what a warning is, I am not looking for entertainment.

bucky1andonly3/19/2015, 12:54:46 PM1 votes

Hell, I'm surprised more people haven't jumped in on the free skin bet too. That would have kept it bumped more often and gotten me a lot of attention.

The thing with the chat restrictions, if the system was 100% flawless, I would take them seriously. Being reported because someone didn't like what you said in game, even if it wasn't against the rules, can still end with a chat restriction.

Stop claiming to be one of those innocent people who calms to "not have been toxic", and then gets smitedsummoner 11 down by one Rioter. I dont want to see you reading the burned post til you reach the point of having to cry in the shower.

nerak233/19/2015, 10:17:03 PM1 votes

Soooo....I'll take a wild stab at a guess... On Saturday the 21st. So here is your bump.

I must say though I see more responses when you do an @ Lyte @ Riot thread and ask for the logs to be posted. This is why you don't see anyone's else's comments when chat logs are posted, they won't put logs up without permission I believe so anyways.

Are you saying you don't know why you got perma banned ? Or are you saying you know what happened and you were defending yourself ? It isn't entirely clear in your op.

bucky1andonly3/20/2015, 7:27:49 AM1 votes

All I know is a generalization. They said I was banned for being toxic. Once again, I was not emailed this. I had to open a ticket to find this out. I tried to log on, it said I was banned, I opened a ticket. Was told to post here to ask for more information, was also told in my ticket that a player behavior specialist would be contacting me. No reply here from Riot and no reply from that specialist in my ticket.

I would like to know why I would be permanently banned seeing how this is the first time in the 3+ years I've played that I have ever been banned. I haven't cheated, I don't use exploits, I don't even use 3rd party legal programs or overlays. I don't make racist remarks and I don't make real life threats. I'm on to play the game and don't say sexually vulgar things. The normal rage you see from people, with swearing and caps, that shouldn't land me a permanent ban. The one guy that posted here linked 3 threads, all received a 2 week ban for being toxic. A lot of what they said was worse than anything I've said. But yet, I get the perma ban. The chat logs are irrelevant. Even on a counter strike server that I used to play on, where you were allowed to say what ever you wanted, the clan saying all kinds of racist things to each other because all were friends, even then, I never was saying that kind of stuff. Sure, make jokes on occasion, but nothing serious. On a text chat only game though, sarcasm is obviously lost.

When I attempted to log on and found out I was banned, the message said to check my email, which I did. Upon receiving no email, I opened a ticket. That was on Feb 27, 09:51. That's 3 weeks since my ban now. 3 links that show people only getting 2 week bans, well, I've surpassed their timed bans.

nerak233/20/2015, 9:49:17 AM1 votes

Seems likely. It's been a little over 2 weeks, and that seems to be about the turnover. They must have a hell of a backlog.

Yeah it could well be that Jubbiniut,I just noticed those quote in Red tracker of Wookie's, did you see them ?

EDIT: Trying to reply to you Bucky and I can't seem to reply right now, that a bit odd..So I'll just quick throw it up here on this post with an edit...!st, Riot says to reconfirm your e-mail and look in spam and junk files for the notice...Not very helpful I know..but it's a start. If you can find out the code that was used their are people on Misc. that can tell you what the ban is for specifically. Perhaps it is a mistake that is glaringly obvious.

I just want to point out they almost never overturn perma's but I'm sure I am not the only one that wouldn't mind helping you find out. :)

bucky1andonly3/20/2015, 4:35:04 PM1 votes

Oh I've checked my email thoroughly.

It's my first ban, and it seems rather unfair to jump straight to a permanent ban considering so many others get multiple bans for being toxic before being permanently banned. I've put too much time and money into the game without having a chance to have this overturned.

Hey Bucky, I am just recalling a difference we had before ? I could be wrong and I am certainly not upset but do you remember talking to me before this thread ?

bucky1andonly3/21/2015, 4:31:24 AM1 votes

Hi Bucky1andonly,

As a new initiative to reduce the amount of toxicity within League of Legends, we’ve recently begun to audit players’ accounts for extreme cases of toxic behavior. Every account punished by this system was personally reviewed by someone at Riot to ensure accuracy.

After having reviewed your account, the decision to issue a permanent suspension had to be made due to the extreme cases of toxicity we found. This type of toxic behavior has no place in League of Legends, and if a player is particularly egregious, we are forced to make the decision to suspend their account altogether.

We would encourage you to join the discussion on our forums where Rioters like Lyte have been responding to players in regards to their suspensions, however do know ahead of time that we will not be reversing your suspension for any reason.

Please let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you.

Boogie Riot Games Player Support

This is a copy/paste response. I have read the exact same reply on another ban post. This is all the information I have. This is on the ticket I opened, not the email I was supposed to get after being banned.

bucky1andonly3/26/2015, 8:38:07 PM1 votes

Hey bucky1andonly,

This account has creating negative and damaging experiences for others, and we are not confident in returning an account with that kind of history back into the fields of justice. This account has been provided multiple opportunities to reform through restrictions without success, and the severity of this negative behavior required a suspension. When you feel that you are ready to offer a fair and fun environment for players, we welcome you back under a new account. As context has been provided, we will be considering this matter closed.

Lighting your path,

Mogey Bear Player Behavior and Game Herald of the Judicator

So, an account can create a negative and damaging experience. So really, it wasn't the person using that account. I'm allowed to make a new account though, because that account would also be controlled by me and my original account was possessed? I don't understand the logic. I was the one being negative, not the account. Why would I be allowed to create a new account? Why not just give my account a timed ban instead? Seems like a money scheme again. Ban the account hoping the player comes back to spend hundreds on skins again. HA!!! What a joke. I think my point is proven how flawed this system is. They allow people that have had a permanent ban on an account create a new one thinking that the person actually learned a lesson? More often than not, permanent bans lead to a person raging more in games on new accounts and trolling hard just because they can and have nothing to lose now. What does this teach anyone?

bucky1andonly4/1/2015, 7:52:57 AM1 votes

That's a good question. How do you propose they gate account generation to prevent permabanned players from creating new accounts?

Well, I know the answer to this, and I'm pretty sure they know of at least one way to do this. Sure people can use VPN's and other methods to get around proper bans, but generally you would be lagging a lot or would have problems connecting in the first place. Hell, Booger there even said I'm more than welcome to make a new account to keep playing. What the hell is that about huh? Sure seems like they want me gone pretty bad, mmhmmm, yep, that's what that sounds like. "We're gonna ban this account, but feel free to make a new one and continue playing" Meanwhile countless other games I have played bans players in multiple ways. IP bans being the main thing that anyone would automatically think of. You could even go so far as MAC banning, which would restrict an individual from using a particular computer. Like I said there are ways around these bans, but at least going to such lengths would show that they honestly don't want you playing. Simply banning an account and coming right out and saying that you can just make a new account and keep playing shows how stupid and ignorant there system is. It's all about the money. I have read in the past, one person gets banned, and others using the same connection are also banned. Since there is no way to know who is actually who, most bans would stick. So it's not like they can't do this kind of banning, they can, and they don't because they want money.

Your quote doesn't help Riots side though. How does the honor initiative and real-time warning system prevent permanently banned players from constantly making new accounts and being toxic in them? It doesn't. There are ways to permanently restrict access to the game. They won't do that because if they just permanently ban your account and let you make a new one, they hope that you will spend money on the game to catch up to where you were. That's the thought process in a nutshell for a company that likes to reach into peoples pockets with a TOA that says anything you purchase you do not own.

New players will see the report button and abuse it as well, meaning their reports hold less weight overall. This means permanently banned players that actually take the time to start up a new account can continue to be toxic for a considerable amount of time before getting their first warning, let alone a ban.

But again, why not just give out timed bans, extended timed bans instead? A person can't be expected to try and change their ways if they are not given a chance to. Banning an account permanently only shows that they are not interested in people changing. You cannot refute this either. Chat restrictions don't do the job either. After reading many stories of people being banned though, and reading their chat logs, I've come to the conclusion that the employees of Riot in charge of banning have no clue what they are doing. Giving some people a timed ban for saying things 100x worse than I've ever said and banning me permanently as my first ban. Some people even receive multiple timed bans before being permanently ban, well not just some, A LOT of people. Why should some start of with a perma ban?

Reading one of my 2 logs they gave me, which I never even asked for, because I had stated I already knew I had raged in some games and showing me the logs was of no importance, but if the entire chat log for the game was there, you would see people harassing me, and I even remember the one game because it wasn't that long ago. All you see though is what I typed which clearly makes me the bad guy for defending myself against harassment. But this too only shows how a timed ban makes more sense too. People instigate by bitching at another player, saying they are bad, or they don't like your build, or they tell you to stop feeding or w/e else they can think of, but the moment you defend yourself you become toxic. But this shouldn't lead to a permanent ban. It does though, which is utter stupidity.

On top of everything, not one person from Riot has posted here. What a crock of shit this system is. I am told to post here because people like Lyte often reply on these topics. They don't say where to post of course, so I put it in the help and support section. It gets deleted, not moved of course, because that might seem like work. They mention to put it in the miscellaneous section. My first post there gets deleted, but I get a warning this time, mention that I shouldn't post about such things because they are not equipped to help me and that I should open a ticket instead. Meanwhile the ticket I have open tells me to post here. Yeah, BRILLIANT FUCKING SYSTEM. This comes from the same people that think permanently banning an account and allowing that same person to start a new account and be toxic and ruin games for new people is the best way to go about things. I swear I must be the only person that sees this for what it is. It's all just a crock of shit, it's another attempt at reaching into pockets, there moderation on the boards is shit, their help and support is slow and also shit because 99/100 times you will just get a copy/paste response that has only a semblance of anything related to your issue.

Oh, I will play again, and I will be the only one on my team having a good time I guarantee it. Riot wants to waste my time, I'll return the favour.

bucky1andonly3/12/2015, 3:40:50 AM1 votes

It's been quite a while. If I could log on I could find out, lmao. But my account does have 130 skins. A permanent ban just seems a bit harsh considering it's my first ban.

bad arcade kitty3/12/2015, 4:01:49 AM1 votes

if you check his match history he played heimer top too anyway they dont permaban you for trolling, cussing and throwing tantrums in the lobby (i would have been permabanned long ago, lol)

bucky1andonly3/13/2015, 5:06:14 PM1 votes

Still waiting for a response here and of course a reply from my open ticket from this mysterious player behavior specialist. Are they all on vacation?

Oh don't worry people, it's not like I haven't raged at people in game. I do it after I'm being verbally attacked though. Get on my case in game non stop and I'll tell you off. But again, I don't make racist comments or threats. I defend myself. When you get a few games in a row with people getting on your case for what ever reason, it can get on your nerves sometimes. I don't like stupid people telling me how I should be playing according to their own standards/style of play/personal preferences. I play the way I want, I always try to win, I only surrender when it is a complete blowout because you never know, you can always come back if they make a lot of mistakes.

It's pretty sad that it's been 2 weeks and I have yet to be contacted further about this, the ticket is still open. It was in a ticket that I was told to make a post about it as well, which is why I posted here.

A timed ban would have been more appropriate for a first time ban since I never said anything so bad as to warrant a permanent ban. How does a person get a chance to reform if they are removed permanently? Sure I can start all over, but what's the point? 2342 hours played, almost have every rune, missing like 10 total, own all the champs, 130 skins. Yeah, not worth my time to start over. You read about other people that are permanently banned starting new accounts and just trolling the hell out of the game, being stupid, throwing games, being extremely toxic on purpose. That too is not worth my time. But that is the end result of a permanent ban for so many people. I have many other games I can and will play if this isn't resolved properly. And by properly, I mean not being permanently banned. I'd rather have a 1-2 month ban which is longer than normal for a first time ban too. Nope, nothing, no response here, no reply to my open ticket, no timed ban which is more suitable to my level of toxicity (which is still far under so many people that have only received timed bans).
