Pros Playing in Lag

AngryLlamaBaby·11/17/2014, 2:42:54 AM·106 votes·7,049 views

I might just be sadistic but I really want to see two lcs teams play against each other in (equal) laggy conditions, just to see how they react and adjust. It doesn't have to be major, maybe somewhere between 100-200 ping and a lower fps than they're used to. I just want to see how crippling just a little lag can be among the best of the best, hehe.

I'd rather they just split east and west and let everyone have good ping.

SpecterVonBaren11/17/2014, 6:50:52 AM8 votes

The issue is that the problem with high ping isn't so much that your ping is high, it's that the ping of everyone else isn't. If you make it so everyone has the same amount of high ping then it won't be as interesting as you think. Not saying it wouldn't be interesting or that it wouldn't mess people up, just pointing something out.

Thrown headphones in anger everywhere. Fear the Koreans.......

bump for great justice!

FancyKiwi11/17/2014, 6:17:03 PM5 votes

It'd be funny because some, if not all, pros hit 100 ping and say "Aw man what is with this lag.?"

Killer X 1211/17/2014, 8:49:36 AM5 votes

Lol you mean the ping for the average East coast player? Mine is almost always about 100-120.

Incognonymous11/17/2014, 10:53:11 AM5 votes

I want to see "Reconnecting" every pro game.

Pikmints11/17/2014, 3:23:50 PM4 votes

These sadistic thoughts are perfectly normal. Wanting to alter the conditions of either the best or worst to get interesting results is common.

I'd also like to see a team of Bronze 5 individuals play against the pros and see just how that would be. Would the pros win in 10 minutes? Would the Bronze team hug their towers? Would the pro team get any deaths? I also imagine that since the pros are so used to upper tier play, some of the bronze running-in-circles strategy may be misinterpreted as them trying to do something that higher tier players would try to get an advantage instinctively.

It would be fun to watch it, especially if we could hear/see their reactions.

Samflash311/17/2014, 10:03:31 PM4 votes

We'll call the match, "SoloQueue".

Stompburger11/18/2014, 1:21:15 AM4 votes

Just read this as "Poros Playing in Lag"

You had me at "Poros Playing"

Decaedeus11/18/2014, 1:51:07 AM3 votes

Or, you know. Featured Game Mode: BR Ping. Ping adjusted delay of 300 ms (300 ms - your ping). Then we get pros to stream this.

InuYasha554911/17/2014, 7:55:55 PM3 votes

Dude....

On NA I get 100-200 ping normally and I deal with it. The day I get sub 100 ping I will go out and buy RP just because.

MeBuffULongTime11/18/2014, 3:43:56 AM3 votes

YES! THEY CAN SEE WHAT IT'S LIKE TO DEAL WITH EAST COAST PING!!! Sorry for caps but I think they probably forget how good they have it living on the west coast and other places. I would love to see this.

Sirin Gioro11/17/2014, 8:32:41 PM3 votes

INB4 pro players rage "wtf this ping I can't CS, gg im afk fkn noob rito thx 4 this shit 150 ping"

Meanwhile us East coasters...

jmaishere11/17/2014, 4:16:09 PM3 votes

they should add in the occasional 500 ping spikes

Rikari11/18/2014, 1:58:43 PM2 votes

LoL my lowest ping ever is 200 What I want though, is to see a LCS team win with an AFK. THAT is what I NEED.

HypnoBubbles11/17/2014, 2:33:14 PM2 votes

set it up as a 5 team battle royal, 3 members per team, all battling for one goal.

we can call it the Riot Organized Fighting League.

of course, the pro version will be ' Riot Organized Fighting League Masters Advanced Ops.'

Junkο11/17/2014, 2:11:27 PM2 votes

Pro players wouldn't actually care as much as people think they would. I had 200 ping when playing on NA servers and after about 10-20 games i got used to it and played like an average player. If they had a few games of practice, i'm sure it would be just another pro game, but since there would be a small 0.5-1 sec delay, i guess we wouldn't actually be seeing Thresh, Yasuo or Zed every game.

TankEpidemic11/17/2014, 8:01:27 AM2 votes

That would actually be VERY interesting to watch.

iainB8511/18/2014, 2:48:26 PM2 votes

Ha, the LC$ players that regularly stream complain if their ping "spikes" to 40 and call it unplayable.

Drunk Rummate11/17/2014, 10:04:15 PM2 votes

i think LCS should be hosted on the East Coast until riot fixes their sh*t

Gorbache11/18/2014, 3:20:57 AM2 votes

I never go over 90 in Eastern Canada so I'm quite lucky... Speaking of pro playing on the East Coast though, Nightblue3 has kept in the top of solo queue constantly and he is playing with more than 90 ping pretty much all the time! I always wonder how good he'd be if he was on the West coast!

jmaishere11/19/2014, 7:15:36 AM1 votes

clearly you don't understand what bronze is like, do you understand what's it like having someone consistently feed each game? the games basically come down to which team feeds more, even more than that, bronze is full of trolls who insist on certain lanes and then proceed to feed. Once in bronze it's probably harder to climb out of bronze than it would be for me to ascend in silver providing i didn't get too lazy and drop from silver to bronze
