No More Fills Please

Will RIOT ever add an option to wait in a longer queue time to ensure that we get the position we would like to play in ranked? I would much rather wait 3-5 minutes than waste 20+ minutes through a miserable game where the team yells at you for not doing so hot of a job in a position I am not as familiar with. Like getting stuck support or something, and having to be completely reliant on the ADC to be able to make plays along with you in lane and not let it completely collapse. I'm sure many other players out there would be more than willing to wait longer through match making to ensure that they would be positioned in the spot they feel most comfortable with in a ranked setting.

They won't. You and many others opting out of autofill wouldn't just increase your wait time. It would increase everyone's. If they do anything, I think it will be getting rid of dynamic queue entirely and make people decide roles in lobby again.

Here is the system I want. Everyone ranks their positions from most prefered to least preferred. The system then uses those to match teams by selecting a persons most preferred roll only for half the estimated wait time that is shown and then adds the next role down for every increment of time spent searching.

Example: Estimated wait time is 1:50

My role preference is 1. Support, 2. Jungle, 3. Top, 4. Mid, 5. ADC

The system searches for only support for 55 seconds. Then from 55 - 1:50 it searches for support and jungle. From 1:51 - 2:45 it searches for support, jungle, and top.

This would probably have to be tweaked depending on rank though because searching for only the primary role in Diamond for 4 minutes could serve to increase queue times dramatically.

that's a good point, I'm just fed up with getting filled into roles I am not at a RANKED level to play, and then have the team flame because I am not pulling my weight. Makes for a really frustrating game when team is giving you crap for your performance in a role you didn't wanna play anyways. It's frustrating to play as a support, because you are reliant on the ADC to make and go along with plays, which is probably why so few people main support. I mained support for a while, but just decided to main top because it is less reliant on synergy with a complete stranger. All I'm saying is, even if it adds 10 minutes to my timer, just let me play the roles that I CHOOSE to play. That way I can wait 10 minutes rather than going through a potentially 40 minute miserable game that has a higher chance of me losing LP.
