Switching From Locked to Unlocked Screen

I know that unlocked screen is generally better, because it offers more benefits then being on a locked screen. However, I am struggling to make the switch and I need some help. I know how the basic functions work where you can click space to centre the screen on your champion, but I just cannot stay on unlocked screen, so I need some tips to help constantly be lock screen.

Thanks!

Play champions like Zac, who has a basic ability that goes beyond locked screen. Get used to unlocking before casting it then relock after. This helps you get used to controlling it. In the end though it is go big or go home. Force yourself to play 5-10 normal games (preferably with friends but it doesn't need to be) and don't use lock screen, unbind spacebar, don't let yourself do it at all. It is pretty painful.

Just something you gotta get used to. I have never played with camera lock... ever. In fact, I can't stand locked camera. You eventually get so used to manually moving the camera, you don't even think about it.

Until you get used to it, practice playing with it in Co-Op vs AI or Aram since you only have to worry about 2 directions instead of 360 degrees :P

There are many ways you can do with the locked and unlocked screen. Of course, it takes some time to get used and I remember that I used to struggle with it back then. However, I found a way that makes everything easier for me.

Try this:

Go to the "HOTKEYS" tab and find the "Camera Control" option.

In the "Toggle Camera Lock" section, bind that option to the SPACE bar.

After you have done that, you can lock and unlock the camera by pressing the space bar once at anytime. It will take a bit to get used to, but this is what feels comfortable for me. I feel uncomfortable if I hold down the SPACE bar the whole time while fighting, so I use that option instead. I lock the camera whenever I'm fighting in a certain area and unlock the camera whenever I need to look elsewhere on the map.

Play a few Co-op vs AI games and force yourself to learn the lock/unlock camera during the game. Then, move on to normals and you will get used to it eventually. It just takes time.
