About Summoner Pings and viewability

Quite a while ago Riot has decided to hide pings to all summoners except for yourself in the loading screen. It supposedly caused toxicity (which I can understand). Since the main reason (if not the only reason) for removing ping information is due to toxicity, why not show people your ping if you are friends with someone during a loading screen (for allies only)? it wouldn't cause any toxicity since they are your friend. In addition, if a summoner decides not to show ping information, it can easily be a setting that can be changed in the client. (show ping for - friends only, or Nobody. I dont think show ping for all is necessary since it is known to cause toxicity and Riot shouldnt promote that in any way).

While not a bad idea, I don't think it's necessarily needed either. Maybe to show that someone may have dc'd but there's not much you can act on with this information, you'd still be waiting for them to reconnect.

There is one major problem though, the in-game client and the AIR (Menu) client are two separate beasts and it's very hard to interconnect them from what I understand. It's for that reason you can't change in-game options in the AIR client. While probably not the best way to go about it, it's how League was initially built and if I recall correctly it's under the "more trouble to fix than to leave be" category.
