i play nonsense that hardly works in normals all the time, but for ranked you gotta stick to what you're real good at.

i actually did relatively well in my first ranked game recently. we lost, and i could've done better, but i think i played at around my best.

nbd, i'd reccomend sticking to normals for a while longer if you're that new, it's certainly a more serious environment

My friend invited me to my first ranked, back when I didn't even have runes. He told me it was normals draft, I didn't pay attention to it and well.. 1/9 Ashe with ap setup :/

My friends told me to play at least a full year before playing ranked (this includes lvling from 1-30). I did that and I went 3/7 on promos, but did good enough to still get into silver 5. Practice some champs, master 2 roles and you'll do fine in ranked. (2 roles because of the new draft pic). I also recommend waiting until the new draft pic is up to go for ranked, increased chance to get a role you want. BTW: GLHF in ranked man, hope you do well [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

ty for the read...ya i have been playing for a little over a month now i've been trying to only stick to playing normal draft games but i do ranked from time to time...i'm a top laner with some adc experience i have a couple lvl 5 top and lvl 5 adc champions...

lol, sounds like me, i main top and adc as well, trying to get some exp at jging( not going well lol). It helps to play longer so you understand the champs you face, and what might be counters to them, instead of just reading it somewhere.

Something thats very true for ranked is that over half the people you'll meet on it are on tilt XD. In comparison there is usually only 1 person on average in that state in norms. This means that even if they might be more skilled than you they are in such a bad mindset that they play horribly

Well i was kind-of nervous about losing, so i didn't go in Ranked and spend an entire Season realizing that it's important like most players do.

I don't understand how I got Silver in seasons 4 and 5 honestly. I play through placements and normally stop. But mechanically I am far less skilled than my friends (who get bronze) and I can lose the majority of my placement games while they win theirs and it was the same situation.
