The longer we play and unlock all of the champions, the more IP we have sitting around and having a new champion release once in a while doesn't help us out all the time, here are some suggestions to get rid of our IP:

  1. Large chunk of IP for a discount token: such as 6300 IP for a 30 or 50% off your next skin purchase below 1350RP values, you still end up paying RP and the costs but it helps people out who have so much IP and want just one skin, and Riot still ends up eating up your RP, win win (credit to Lucky)

  2. Post game animated greeting cards such as "thanks for the carry", we already have the RP equivalent but this one doesn't come with skins.

  3. Chromas, why isn't this a thing yet?

  4. Profile stickers where we can customize them a bit, think something like Super Smash Bros with their stickers

  5. ARAM skin boosts, it can be at a much higher price

  6. Renting a skin

  7. Summoner Icons (Credit to A Palmtop Tiger), no more of that silly pledge your honor to a jungle monster for RP, or an equivalent at least.

  8. Unlocking champions for friends for IP (Credit to regaline)

  9. IP boosts for IP (Credit to regaline)

  10. IP Wheel of Fortune (credit to Actually xPeke)

  11. IP charity (Credit to Rolldembones and SlayerTay6)

  12. Anything else you can think of

It would be nice for us veterans to have something to do with the IP and newcomers as well!

I would love to be able to gift champions to friends with IP. Or runes/rune pages. Just make sure it's limited to like 1 gift every day because otherwise you can gift your smurf lot's of stuff basically

OH OH I know what they should make. A wheel of fortune with IP! 5000 IP for 1 spin. Rewards could be

  1. A free skinboost for ARAM in the next game
  2. A rune page
  3. A random small amount of RP 1-250 RP
  4. A random mystery champion
  5. A mystery skin
  6. A chroma pack.
  7. Random amount of IP 1-5000 IP
  8. A random icon

Ofcourse there would also be chances to get nothing. and things like a random amount of RP would be more rare than a free skinboost or chroma pack.

I'm no master in balancing prices. so Rito please adjust them if this ever get's in the game

Icons for RP is annoying. I can understand Ward Skins and Chromas, but the fact that Icons cost 250 RP with no other alternative way to buy them is kind of a turn off. They could even make them cost 10000 IP and I'd be content. I simply can't justify buying Icons with only RP, especially when there are so many awesome skins.

Need more summoner icons available for IP.

Charging 250 RP for icons that take little to no time to make is ridiculous. At least give us more options by including icons purchasable through IP. Wouldn't even mind if they cost upwards of 3000 ip.

tbh i only bought this icon cause i couldnt use the rp in any other way (except saving for the next time i buy rp)

fucking please, I'm the point where I have all this ip and nothing to do with it. We could really use something other then champs and runes to sink our IP into.

I think there should be some way to use extra ip to help out friends that are new to the game.

I understand not a flat ip trade but what about using ip to buy ip boosts for a friend? Or have it set up so they only get the advantage if they que with you? That might curb potential abuse.

There should be an IP for charity option. For every (blank) amount of IP turned in around the world, Riot will donate (blank) amount of money to (blank) charity.

Or, just recycle the IP. For every (blank) amount of IP turned in, one lucky person on your friends list will receive a mystery gift.

i really love the renting skins idea.

It's like when you wanna buy a skin you rent it for some time to try it out, instead of buying it immediately.

And we only have 3 refunds...

I don't think you're going to get an IP to RP type of item, but some of the other ideas aren't bad.

The only problem is if they add more IP items are high costs, people will complain loudly about the game being a bigger grind.

To me, I generally don't care if I have a lot of IP sitting around. The game is fun. The rewards don't drive my desire to play and I don't want other people to spend time farming IP instead of trying to win either.

I think making IP work for IP boost seems a little silly, but I guess I don't see why not. I'd like it if you could gift people champions for IP, personally.

To be honest, the entire IP system is a little weird to begin with. You essentially only really need it because Riot doesn't want you to have all the champions for free, and they want you to buy Runes and Rune Pages with it. In essence the entire IP system could use an overhaul,, including the fact we have to buy champions.

That being said, given that this system is broken, I don't think riot has much interest in making IP usable to veteran users. As it currently stands, it pretty much just guarantees that you'll get every new champion when it's released, but that's about it.

Riot can make money off pretty much everything you just mentioned. I'm sure people will always shoot the classic "I'll never use this because it's greedy" defense, but there's a reason Chromas are RP only still. People actually buy them. I think if you made skins rentable for 50 rp, for one game, people would use it. Same with stickers. There would definately be people out there willing to buy a sticker pack for 500 rp that grants them 25+ randomly generated stickers, and one legendary sticker.

When all is said and done, Riot is a business. It would be awesome if they reformed a lot of this, so it felt more F2p, but meh. It's just not going to happen.
