Need help with supporting struggling laners as a jungling Utilidyr in the early game

Hi folks. A question before I get to the intial point. First, how do YOU PERSONALLY pronounce Udyr? I don't watch streams unless I am having trouble learning a champion (so I don't know how streamers pronounce it), I don't watch Riot interviews that might mention it, and the only time I've ever watched LCS is when I'm at a certain friend's house. If Riot or an in-game audio confirms the proper pronunciation, I'm not currently aware of it and would like to know, but if it isn't confirmed that how have you heard it more commonly pronounced? I pronounce it ((Oo [like in "too"] Der [Like "shudder"])): Oo-der My friend pronounces it "Yuu-Deer." (Why hasn't Riot personally determined all pronunciations and have their names announced upon select or something? I think that would be so easy to implement)

The real point of my post though is that I want to improve my early game for utility jungle Udyr in terms of providing support for my lanes. If all lanes are doing well or are generally even, aka don't really NEED me in the early game.. my early game is fine. It's also fine if only one lane is having a little trouble and my presence initimidates the enemy into backing off or making a mistake. Even if I have to waste some time providing a constant presence because of the lane's problems, it usually doesn't put me far enough behind that I can't catch up. While I usually play in a manner to support feeding my laners (instead of largely ignoring them to get myself fed and hoping carrying is still possible), there is a point where too many kills have been given and I feel continuing to waste time trying to effectively helping is just guaranteeing our defeat.

While still only having a machete, or first machete upgrade + boots, or even full devourer upgrade, how do you effectively provide lane support, especially towards two adjacent lanes (when it's top and bottom, I just choose the one I think I needs the more help)? I suppose the real problem is bottom lane. This early in the game, I'm too squishy to actually risk taking damage or getting cc'd because it keeps leading to my death. Burst tops and mids, especially those with CC like Darius or Xerath, are also problematic (compared to non-cc burst like Fiora or Katarina), but are generally less so than a bot that's gotten an early kill or two.

Should I stay outside of range and dodge skillshots, hoping the opponent is intimidated into backing off or making a mistake (and I'll usually attempt to give the kill to the laner to help them to maybe make a come back)? Should I just selfishly ignore the struggling lane(s) and focus on my farm in hopes of carrying despite the fed enemy? Is there another option I'm not considering?

TIP: Don't gank losing lanes. Farm your jungle, Farm their jungle, Gank even or winning lanes. Carry games.

EDIT#2: Reason I say this is because if you spend or waste too much time on a lane that is losing and get nothing from it aside from some soaked, not to mention reduced for both.. or all 3, experience; then you'll put yourself behind the enemy jungle, and their counterganks could ruin your entire mid game. Udyr has a decent to good late game with the right items, and can easily split push to win games. That being said, if you spend too much time doing a lot of nothing at a losing lane, the enemy team will simply not fear or respect you and your damage. Gotta go either farm like crazy, or feed already fed lanes on your team and that way you'll have 1-2 people that will help you carry. Let the losing lane blame you all they want; truth is: It's not our purpose in this game to win YOUR lane.

EDIT: OO-DEER

It's pronounced simply as an I as it stands for one of riot's worker's name and he is polish i think? No idea whatever. Thing is udyr right now is pretty mediocre at it's best, so he might not be the jungler what you are looking for.
