I only play ARAM. It's fun for me. I'm betting 1,000 is probably a lot for ARAM. I'd be interested in seeing a list of the top ARAM winners. I haven't been able to find it? Anyone know?

Funny you should say Varus, That's who I got my 1000th with :)
Varus or Soraka. Soraka is pretty well my favorite champ in general, and the recent Howling Abyss healing nerfs means that I get to focus more on doing damage with her than on just healing allies. I can pretty well do the most damage on my team with Soraka, so long as everyone else doesn't also have one of the really OP ARAM champs.
Varus is a strong early game ADC with enough range that he doesn't just get slaughtered, and low enough multi-target damage that using him requires some skill. He's a good champion to have in an otherwise late game team, since he can give you the strong early game needed to really snowball your allies.
Jinx is my favorite, but I also enjoy AP cait and AP shaco
i love ARAM too! I have only got 34946 takedowns, 660 towers and 603 wins. :( But hey, halfway to 1k right? :D
I love Heim , hes pretty safe and also deadly behind those turrets of his. Next would be Velkoz, hes deadly if he can stay out of the fighting. Voli also. His damage and sustain in those quick fights are amazing. As long as there is not a Lux on the other team. Whoops my butt everytime. Lulu is pretty fun to play as well, I love when someone comes in for a kill and BAM! rabbit, or squrrel or whatever the lil fuzzy thingie is she makes.
I've tried AP Shaco with success, but I've never tried AP Cait. How you do dat?
I also like Karthus, Annie and Shyvana. I got pentakills with Annie and Shyv and Fiddlesticks.
