The Report System

So I just won a ranked match and I was randomly reported in the end for verbal abuse. I had the warning message pop up. I literally did not say anything remotely negative at all that entire match, so why am I getting reported for verbal abuse? I barely even spoke actually. It's ridiculous that people just spam the report button. I really feel like this issue needs to be addressed. The report option is included so we can get rid of the truly toxic players. It's not just there to press whenever we're feeling bitter about a game we just experienced. People who are falsely reporting should honestly be getting banned for a bit, or at least from ranked. I'm almost scared I'll get reported for using /laugh in game because I guess that can be considered "Negative Attitude". If anything, at least make it so there's a limit to how many reports you can issue in one day.

False reports are discarded, and future reports by the person who falsely reported are weighted less.

If you did nothing, you have nothing to worry about.

Something that hasn't been mentioned yet: those pop-ups don't show up immediately after you've been reported. They're triggered by spikes in reports (an unusually high amount over a relatively short period, measured against a baseline specific to your account), and they show up some amount of time/games after they're triggered.

All of which boils down to this: You didn't receive that warning for reports received in that Annie game. You received it for reports received in previous games.

honestly a bunch of players got hit with this ban wave. im pretty sure its riots way of teaching us a lesson by removing our chance to get season rewards. which i think is absolute hogwash. as this post is, half the reports i've gotten have been for nothing at all. but i guess as the saying goes. "but surely you believe truth can be created by repetition of a lie"
